So I've been continuing to test on premom and opk's even though I wasn't sure if I had ovulated and missed it as had a flashing smiley on cb last week but no peak and then low readings on opk/premom. I'm CD18 and it suddenly started climbing this morning and just got my peak this afternoon. I'm pleased to get my peak but worried about a slightly short luteal phase as i'm always on a 28 day cycle. Does anyone else have a short luteal phase?

emmatcc1 · 07/06/2023 16:25

@Silverpixieflorence So you always ovulate on the same day? If you ovulation is late then af should be late as well and luteal phase stays the same.

Silverpixieflorence · 07/06/2023 17:08

@emmatcc1 my cycle has been 28 days every month since I came off the POP last September but I guess this month it could be different 🤷🏼‍♀️ this month is a bit weird as I always get ewcm but had none this month, it's the first time I've done opk's this month and the first time I've seen a peak. I thought you could have a short luteal phase and it can be related to low progesterone? It says online if you have a short luteal phase then there isn't sufficient time for the womb lining to thicken in order for a fertilised egg to implant

PineappleK · 07/06/2023 18:26

@Pandabumbles I'm so glad it's not just me. I also heard it can dry up CM which is the opposite of what I need, had to halve my antihistamine dose to increase mine from next to nothing! Hopefully will O in the next few days.

@Silverpixieflorence you'll likely find that as you've ovulated late, your period will be late. Luteal phase is always consistent, can occasionally be a day either side of your normal number of days. O can be affected by sooo many things, and is often delayed so if period is late it's because O is late and luteal phase is normal. So absolutely fine in terms of TTC! But if luteal phase is 10 days or less, go to GP but I think it's a simple solution/pills to increase progesterone in the days before your period, gives you time to implant 👍🏻

Hi all!! Hope it's ok if I join 🥰
CD 5 her, and have tonight decided we are ready to TTC number 1 ❤️ we are both so excited! I've ordered some conception vitamins to arrive next week!
Can't wait to join this journey with you all ❤️

riverlodge90 · 08/06/2023 08:23

@Hotmalibu94 Hey! I'm also TTC no1 and CD6 today 😊 how long are your cycles usually?

Hotmalibu94 · 08/06/2023 08:41

Hi @riverlodge90 😁
I've not long come off the pill (in April) so things are still settling down! April was 31 days and May was 25 days. I was doing BBT as in the meantime we wanted to try natural cycles as a preventative until we were definitely ready, but it wasn't able to find my ovulation in either month 🙈 so fully prepared that it might take me a little longer!

How long have you been trying?

riverlodge90 · 08/06/2023 09:35

@Hotmalibu94 Awh amazing sounds like it's settling down already, no crazy long cycles which is good.
I used NC for 3 years to prevent and loved the app but have moved over to fertility friend now as find it more accurate and detailed. Might be worth charting in both apps to see what they both say. I found NC got my ovulation day wrong by a day or two quite frequently.
This will be our second month trying!

Welcome to all the new ladies :) anyone in their TWW and getting impatient to test ?

Ary123 · 08/06/2023 10:25

Hi guys,

has anyone else had spotting 5,6,7dpo then again at 10,11 and 12dpo with negetive tests. Period is due today but I’ve just had a negative result. Is it normal to spot so much, I usually sport before my period is due but not 5-7 days post ovulation.

Hankthehonk · 08/06/2023 10:47

@riverlodge90 Yes I'd been using Flo for ages but then started with Premom to log OPKs and now I use them both. It's interesting that they differ a little, e.g. this cycle Premom has ovulation one day earlier than Flo. I like the data and charts in Premom, and the ability to take photos of opk tests, but I like the symptom logging and user friendliness of Flo more!

Hotmalibu94 · 08/06/2023 11:32

@riverlodge90 yeah now that we've decided to start trying DH has requested we try not to do temp charting etc (at least at first) and see what happens so I'm happy to go along with that! Was so weird not picking up the thermometer this morning though 😂

@BB2023 I'm so excited, and it was lovely seeing him so excited too! I wasn't really sure how ready he was for this but after last night it seems he was thinking the same as me and we were both waiting to talk about it when things with work etc settled down 😂

Pandabumbles · 08/06/2023 11:54

Finally got positive OPK today! I don't temp so I usually consider day after positive OPK as O day, i.e. tomorrow, and then 1DPO the next day, so Saturday... is that what other people do who don't temp?!

Welcome to all the new ladies :) anyone in their TWW and getting impatient to test ?

SO impatient! 8DPO here and already working out when I'll take the first test if I can't wait until AF!
Will you test or wait?

HyggeTyggeDotCom · 08/06/2023 12:21

@SouthSpringMoon me! 11dpo today and getting twitchy!

CinderRosie · 08/06/2023 12:52

7dpo for me today and its so annoying. Avoiding early testing as if I have a chemical I would personally rather not know... Want to wait until at least this time next week!

Hankthehonk · 08/06/2023 13:12

I'm only 4dpo so not far enough into the tww to feel twitchy just yet. We're going away later for 4 nights for a family wedding so when I get home it will be 9dpo, which gets the tww wait in nicely. There will a lot going on over the weekend so I can hopefully put it out of my head.
However, I've got that dilemma of whether to drink at the wedding?! I'm a pretty big drinker so it's always very obvious when I'm not! Close family know about the mc I had in March so I guess they'll assume we're trying again and wouldn't mention it, but people less close to me might comment. I might have one prosecco then switch to soft drinks.

Twinkles18 · 08/06/2023 15:47

Hey ladies can I join please? TTC for baby 2 after a MC at 7weeks last month. Haven’t really been able to track ovulation or anything as I dont know when to track from 😅 if I take fist day of MC bleeding as Cd1 my period will be due on Tues so we shall see what that brings ✨ wishing us all good luck this month x

SouthSpringMoon · 08/06/2023 15:50

@123456789sw i caved and tested and BFN …! But then it’s still early thou I’m pretty sure of the 48hours of conception if it happened as I’m pretty regular with ovulation… waiting probably Saturday at 10dpo
@HyggeTyggeDotCom you are so good at waiting compared to me !! I couldn’t hold my self :((
@CinderRosie yep I understand but then I thought I would test and if positive I would wait to be late and test again positive to tell hubby… I mean they do say it happens quite often the chemical and naturally so… still tough
@Hankthehonk tough call , I’m probably a bad example to follow but I’d drink sure would try to be reasonable but wouldn’t avoid it I mean otherwise TTC becomes just like a jail :-/ of course I speak from the perspective of a mother of one beautiful daughter ( who has been conceived in a lot of alcohol !!) but hey go with your guts :)

BB2023 · 08/06/2023 18:33

Hope the TWW goes quickly for those of you already in it!
I'm CD13 today, still getting high readings on ovulation tests but no peak yet! x

Hi everyone I’m also TTC and currently in my TWW I think! Any space for me to join you all too?

I had a MC in April and ?potential chemical last cycle too? Not sure but think I just ovulated so hoping to get a positive soon🤞🏽

BuzzieBo · 08/06/2023 21:48

Hey everyone - joining! Cycle three for me, trying to conceive after a miscarriage in March.
Find being on these threads so helpful as you only really understand what TTC is like if you've been there or are going through it right now.
Wishing everyone all the best for a BFP this month x

Pandabumbles · 08/06/2023 22:26

Welcome new peeps!
@BuzzieBo @MummaDaisy so sorry for your recent MCs and good luck with the new journey. I had a MMC before DS, it's such a hard thing to go through x

sunflower1988 · 09/06/2023 08:08

Hi all!
Hope it's OK to join this thread, started trying last month for baby #2 and trying to stay chill about it,thinking it'll happen when it happens but have already become obsessed 😆
Having a chemical last month didn't help!
My partner is being annoyingly chill about everything so nice to have people to chat to about the emotional roller coaster that is TTC x
