Anybody else ovulate late and get a bfp? And opk questions..

Hi. I have used easy at home opks for ages now and have noticed that I never get a positive line. However I always stop them once I get passed around CD20 thinking I don't ovulate.

Last month I decided to spend a little more on the CB advanced tests to see if I can catch ovulation that way. I opened the pack on CD20 which is when they were delivered and got a blank circle (which is normal from what I have read), then the following day in the evening of CD21 I got a static smiley. I only took it in the evening as that is the time I have always noticed I get a darker line on the opks.

Fast forward a week and a full week of right hand side ovary pain I decided to take an easy at home opk yesterday at 6:30pm which was dark and my app gave me a positive, changed my peak to today and moved my ovulation day on to what will be CD29.

I am so confused right now. I'm wondering if I should try opks for a full month to see if I ovulate much later than I thought I did and we have been missing it every month.

Anybody else ovulate late and been successful in a bfp and how late did you ovulate?

@Khanny I hope it is the case that you are ovulating late, it really sounds like that could be it! I know this would be frustrating in terms of all the months you might have missed it but it's also hopeful as well as you have a better chance of catching ovulation now, if it is the case.

Baby dust to you too, keep us posted on this thread if you keep tracking longer into your cycle, I do hope it is just that you're ovulating late.

And 42 is not too old!

@Hankthehonk I wish I'd have paid the extra money for the CB advanced ovulation kits when we first stopped using contraception. I suppose I just presumed I would ovulate when the text books say you should IF you have a regular cycle...which I don't!

Thank you😊I am going to try tracking every day from now on just to see what is happening and when but I do think I ovulate very late and perhaps have a couple of anovulatory cycles too. Here's hoping we can catch the window by tracking all month.

Hi @Khanny just wondered how you have been getting on? I'm on cd 22 and still have not ovulated which is definitely odd for me. Currently trying to establish whether Itll be late or whether I just wont ovulate this month (which is terrifying for me). Thanks ;)

Hi @Eagerlywaiting1990 I am currently on CD9 following a 56 day cycle and my app confirmed ovulation from my bbt on CD43!

I think I have started to skip some cycles now at my age but am taking myo inositol, folic acid and vitamin d. Run out of co-q10 and need to order some more…

For the first time in absolute months I got heavy and sore boobs in the run up to my last AF so am counting that as a positive cycle symptom! I have been having reflexology since July and I really think it has made a positive difference to my hormones. I used to have 9-12 days of heavy and huge clotty periods but am down to 6 days now with 2 heavy days and the rest I can manage. Just need a good egg🙏🤞🏻

Keep going and keep temping. I believe that I missed so many months because I stopped tracking at around CD22 and now I know I am a late ovulator! Good luck xx
