Did anyone have pms symptoms then get BFP?

I have been trying for baby number one for 18 months. I track each month and it shows I ovulate around cd15/16. I always have an 11 day luteal phase so AF due in a few days. Every month around 8 dpo I start with PMS symptoms, fatigue, sore boobs and lots of smelly wind (Sorry)

I was wondering if any of you had all their normal PMS symptoms like clock work and thought they would get AF and was surprised to go on and get a BFP?

I know it probably means AF is due but after so long of waiting and wishing I wanted to have a bit of encouragement.

I have heard people do 🙂

Yes I did, I had the worst PMS in a long time (bloating, crying, bad mood, sore boobs etc), and in fact I was so convinced it was my period (after months of trying) I had a big glass of wine and resigned myself to another month of no BFP… I was so surprised when two days later the spotting which has started then stopped and period didn’t come… took a test and it was a massive positive! Sending good vibes and hope it is the same for you!

Thank you for responding. That is so great you got your bfp. I am hoping the symptoms don’t be AF but I don’t like to get my hopes up.

I did! I was really cramping on my legs and stomach. I felt my normal pms cold and just in general felt moody. I remember moaning to my dh how lucky he was to be a man and that I had felt the worst I had in a long time. Few days later the symptoms disappeared and I didn’t feel like my period was going to start. I didn’t test until I was late and got my bfp.

I had been ttc for well over 3 years at this point. I tried everything- used apps for tracking, took ovulation tests but I was getting no where. I was really believing I wasn’t able to have children. I spoke to my gp numerous times and they suggested taking a little break before going through tests (just for my own mental health) few months into the break and I fell pregnant. The only things I was doing differently was exercising more to help with my stress and just trhibf to enjoy myself.

I got a very early positive after my IVF cycle so I knew I was pregnant. But it was exactly how I always felt pre period. So much so I was convinced something was wrong and AF would show as normal. It was around two weeks after I was due on that alllll the pregnancy "symptoms" got more obvious.

Your messages really give me comfort. I feel like I am going mad some months. Every month when I feel my PMS symptoms I moan to DH that AF is on the way, I think he is sick of me moaning. I am going to try and not track the next few months whilst I await IVF referral to try and have less tress on my body.

hi@Hopingforbabynumber1 how did it go, did af come or bfp?

Hopingforbabynumber1 · 22/06/2023 11:46

@carsty No AF showed up so they were just all my normal pms symptoms.
