worried i might be pregnant

i have a 2 y/o and 5 month old. i haven’t been careful at all as quite honestly haven’t had a sex life since second was conceived so just didn’t think it would be worth worrying about contraception for a while. now obviously screwed that one up and now think i might be pregnant. i’ve had period like cramps for days but no bleeding and i’ve just took a test which has a vvfl :/ feeling quietly panicked as this was not the plan whatsoever, we had agreed 2 and done and to start saving for a bigger house

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you're expecting from this thread... you weren't careful which you openly admit so what do you expect op? 😬

ElleBelleLou · 24/05/2023 19:49

have you got a picture of the test? do you know when you ovulated / when your period would be due? x

mymeatballsmymeatballs · 24/05/2023 19:52

That's abit harsh @febbabies2023 she's obviously looking for support.🙄

Gasketcracker · 24/05/2023 19:52

Remember OP, you always have options - pregnancy doesn't have to mean a baby. Do get yourself on some contraception ASAP if it turns out you aren't pregnant though... I know how scary it is to have an unexpected pregnancy, it's not something you want to put yourself through again.

That was uncalled for.

febbabies2023 · 24/05/2023 19:57

@mymeatballsmymeatballs @Gasketcracker I'm not trying to be horrible, I'm just saying that we all know what unprotected sex can lead to and by the sounds of it, it wasn't just a little accident one time thing, more of a 'regular' occurrence and not thinking about the consequences

Of course op has a choice, and I'm sure it's a really shitty position to be in, but i genuinely don't know what she thought she'd get from this

No picture of a test and no question?

I'm not a dick (would you believe lol) probably just came across a bit blunt 🫠

no i binned it straight away as didn’t want dh to find it as he’s been talking all day about future plans and now i think i’ve screwed them all up. i’m going to take another tomorrow will post it then - and no idea i still haven’t had my period back since giving birth so i think i just kind of thought well how unlucky would it be if this one time would be when i’m ovulating after months of nothing. i feel so stupid

I can see where you were coming from... I'm slightly bemused that someone would be surprised at being pregnant after knowingly having unprotected sex.

What a bitchy comment. No need.

no it was just one time which i think is why i had the mentality of well one time won’t do anything even though i know better. i absolutely was stupid be as harsh as you want it’s fine, it’s true i’ve been so daft. i just don’t want to say anything to anyone until i’ve taken a few tests and made sure it’s actually real so just wanted to post on here for someone to talk to really

febbabies2023 · 24/05/2023 20:03

@speckledfrogs4 this is my point! Especially as it's drummed into you how fertile you are after having a baby and that you must be so careful
I honestly wasn't trying to be horrible, I think like you just a surprised

febbabies2023 · 24/05/2023 20:05

@silversausage I'm not trying to be horrible. Clearly you're aware of how silly you've been if you don't want another child. I'd just take a FRER test with FMU and see how you get on. Hope you get the results you want

Milkand2sugarsplease · 24/05/2023 20:06

At the end of the day, it takes 2 to tango and your husband was just as aware that there would be a chance of pregnancy even from one time.
On that basis, he can't be anything but supportive really, whatever it is you decide to do.

ElleBelleLou · 24/05/2023 20:28

Would your husband support you Op? How would you feel if you are? It might not be your plan but it doesn't have to be a disaster. But on the flipside, if you are pregnant you dint have to have the baby. We're here for you to talk to either way. X

silversausage · 25/05/2023 08:06

can anyone else see this please? i can see it better in person and last nights was definitely there but was a different test brand ?

It does look like there are two lines but it also looks like an indentation. Can you take a pic from further away?

ElleBelleLou · 25/05/2023 09:27

I'm not sure i see two lines - maybe worth getting a first response test? They've always shown up a lot clearer for me when a strip test is questionable x

silversausage · 25/05/2023 15:08

it’s so faint i feel like i’m going insane 🥲 going to see what it looks like later as my previous pregnancies my lines were darkest right before bed

worried i might be pregnant
OP posts:
TheHopefulMum · 25/05/2023 15:10

I can't see anything on that test sorry. I also don't think the line would be in the location you've indicated. I agree with pp, first response are great.

febbabies2023 · 29/05/2023 11:24

Any update op
