Recent BFP, anyone else?

Hi ladies,

Recently got my BFP (will be 5 weeks tomorrow) 🥰and wondered if anyone has also recently got their BFP and would like to join this thread?

I'm 33, been actively TTC for around 6 months, This is my second pregnancy as I had a MMC at 8 weeks at the end of 2021. But if successful will be my first baby 🙏🏼✨ took a break in between as I was getting married.

Really hoping for a positive healthy pregnancy this time✨🤞🏻

@Infertilitylife no symptoms at all! My boobs are sore but have been since day before transfer due to the meds so I'm not taking that as a sign. And Im sleepy but been waking up at 5am every morning and not been able to get back to sleep so think it's that! X

@Tempeliz I get what you mean about the anxiety. So sorry for your chemical- no experience but this is my first pregnancy ever and so scared something is going to do wrong especially coz it took so long to get here. At least we can support each other on here x

Coinicon · 31/05/2023 14:01

Sorry to see so many people here have also had losses and experience in infertility, I really hope we all have our precious babies this time 🤍

@Tempelizyou’re so right, there definitely isn’t a lot of support for the first trimester and yet it is such a scary time! I’ve been so anxious this pregnancy, I haven’t been anywhere near as sick this time which made me start to doubt if I even was pregnant…until the past two days, now I’ve been feeling really ill and (TMI) gagging/wretching/my body’s beginning to try throw up 😶 Totally put off cooking food but don’t want to live off takeaway 😂

Coinicon · 31/05/2023 14:02

Also has anyone else’s social media algorithm completely changed to be totally pregnancy focused? 🤰

clearlyy · 31/05/2023 14:03

@Coinicon mine was completely F1 related, now it's completely baby related! Mad!

CaribbeanCupcake · 31/05/2023 14:47

@Coinicon omg yes!! I'm so worried someone is going to see something over my shoulder and guess 🙈
How far along are you?

Coinicon · 01/06/2023 12:23

@clearlyy @CaribbeanCupcake I’m glad it’s not just me, I feel like my phone is monitoring everything I do 😅 I have downloaded the Pregnancy+ app so I wondered if that was it but I guess I do search a LOT of pregnancy questions now 🤣

  • I’ll be 8 weeks on Monday @CaribbeanCupcake! What about you?
Ella31 · 01/06/2023 15:26

8 weeks Monday too. First scan Tuesday

CaribbeanCupcake · 01/06/2023 17:14

@Coinicon I downloaded that app too 🤣 Wow and how are you feeling? I'm 5 weeks tomorrow so still super early days! X

Coinicon · 02/06/2023 15:31

Oh wow @Ella31 exciting! Hope it goes well for you 😊

@CaribbeanCupcake I’ve been sickly feeling every day but only actually been sick once (two days ago, after a bumpy car journey) and haven’t been sick since. My boobs have been sore though off and on!

Tbh I was super anxious for a while and crying a lot due to having a missed miscarriage my previous pregnancy, but I’ve calmed down a bit now and I’m just going to see what happens at the 12 week scan as nothing I do before then will change the outcome. But it is definitely such a stressful time the first trimester!!

How have you (and anyone else here 👋) been finding it?

CaribbeanCupcake · 02/06/2023 16:46

@Coinicon aww bless you, mmc must have been awful. I get you on the anxious front tho every day I'm terrified something will go wrong 😭
Ive had one evening of cramps, and nothing else! I had a nap this afternoon which is unlike me but I didn't have the longest sleep last night so think just tired in general. It's scary having no symptoms coz I literally feel the same as normal 🙈

Very sick at the moment too. I feel guilty because I complained so much after my two losses about not being pregnant and to be honest I'm miserable at the mo. So tired and nauseated every day.

Coinicon · 04/06/2023 13:52

@Ella31 I’m the same, just constantly feel ill and tired. I’ve been sick again this morning but I know what you mean about feeling guilty…I feel like all I’ve done is complain and be pessimistic so far even though it’s all I’ve wanted for so long, but it’s so hard to feel excited until I know everything’s going to be fine.

My family keep telling me to enjoy the pregnancy but it’s hard when you’ve had loss because you just know being pregnant (and all that goes with it) doesn’t always equate to having a bouncing baby at the end - otherwise I’m sure we wouldn’t mind feeling terrible for now!

How far along were your previous losses if you don’t mind me asking? Mine was nearly 9 weeks (8+5) but didn’t find out until the 12 week scan, so I feel apprehensive coming into 8 weeks this time because of this.

I was 7 and 2 the first one and a chemical on the second. Aw yeah I'm thinking of asking the doctor for relief at the next appointment, I ate nothing today. I'm sorry about your losses too. You never forget it.

Ella31 · 06/06/2023 11:30

Ladies I had my first scan. I'm 7 weeks with twins. I'm in shock. Scared but optimistic. Measured a week behind so hope all is ok.

CaribbeanCupcake · 06/06/2023 12:22

Omg @Ella31 congratulations! Amazing news!! All the positive thoughts and vibes coming your way xx

Coinicon · 06/06/2023 17:31

Congratulations @Ella31, I can imagine that is a shock but wow what a surprise! Praying everything goes well with your twins and glad to hear you’re feeling optimistic 🤍

Ziska93 · 07/06/2023 20:07

Is it just me or is mumsnet kind of difficult to use? Anyway, first midwife appointment tomorrow after 4 weeks of counting the hours… and my friend has her first scan appointment half an hour before. She’s always a step ahead and she’s always telling me what to expect. I can’t wait to see her scan picture and then to get mine (hopefully) in a few weeks time!

IDK about you but I’m feeling absolutely rotten all day long atm! Anyway, hope you’re all doing well :) welcome to the new ladies and congratulationssss!

Coinicon · 07/06/2023 20:24

@Ziska93 exciting!! How far along are you now?

I’ve had days where I’ve been okay other than the morning and then days where I’ve been sickly all day! I just keep eating and it seems to help 😊

I went through a period of having really sore boobs, then they were fine and now they’re back to being really sore. Plus one nipple is now darkening and itchy (waiting for the other one to catch up!), anyone else had any nipple changes yet? 🤣🤣

Very exciting to get the first scan. So fingers crossed for ye. I don't know if any of ye would agree but for those of you who have had losses before scans, it's heart breaking to have nothing isn't it.

Definitely feeling it in my boobs. Constantly sore. I'm having a lot of aching and it's making me nervous.

Coinicon · 08/06/2023 11:25

@Ella31 Yes it really is heartbreaking, I’m actually petrified to go to my scan. I have a phobia of the dentist from a bad experience and it genuinely feels like that with this! Hoping to change that experience this time 🙏

I’ve had aching and weird twinges too on certain days and it is scary. I’ve realised a lot of it is also down to digestion though as that goes completely haywire during pregnancy so some foods make my stomach feel horrendous now (like pulses, berries) which didn’t before. Especially with you having twins, I can’t imagine how much more your body will be changing and rearranging itself!

Aaaaaagh it’s all so exciting/nerve-racking!

@Coinicon fingers crossed your scan will be perfect and the experience itself was lovely. I didn't even notice the machine or feel it. I was so focused on the screen in front of me.

Yeah the twinges and aches worry me. Sometimes it feels like I'm coming on my period. I'm dry heaving a lot in the mornings. I hate giving out as I cried so much prior to this when I wasn't successful but being pregnant is bloody hard isn't it.
What date is your scan again?

twobcomthree · 13/06/2023 20:51

Hows everyone doing?

I had my early scan today and saw a baby with a heartbeat, i'm 8w3 🥺🥰

So so pleased and relieved 🙏🏼 but know it's still early days, hoping everyone else on this thread is doing well

Thought it would be interesting to share that i've had very minimal symptoms so far no sickness or anything, I know people offer worry if they don't have anything obvious but goes to show everyones different!! X

That's wonderful. Totally agree, everyone is different. Delighted for you. I'm the same as you 8 and 3.
