How rare are evaps on easy@home?

I've been seeing the same line from 5dpo that only my eyes pick up not on camera and I'm sick of seeing it it's playing head games with me😂 so I turned it round on my window (literally) and I can finally see the shadow I've been seeing. I was a victim of evaps on first response last month they had colour and everything so I'm not getting my hopes up just wanted peoples opinions on evaps on these test as I've read before I bought they barely give evaps

Sorry can't see at all where the lines are supposed to be, can you retake in normal light. I got my positives with this brand without any problems. How many dpo are you

G3mini2 · 16/05/2023 18:43

@GreenIsle I'm 7dpo today. I know I've tested early but you know how this tww gets to us 🥴 I had evil evaps on first response last month and I'm not about to be a victim again😂 but here it is better. If you can't see it's okay I'm not going to test anymore now if I've missed my period

The camera doesn't pick it up in normal light but eyes do. Or I could have line eyes but I'm sure I can see something in the pic that my camera can't hahah. Only time will tell though

OP posts:
GreenIsle · 16/05/2023 18:55

I think I can see a second line, what does it look like just taking a photo on a table or something without the window behind it

Ttcmumma · 16/05/2023 19:03

You wouldn't have implanted until atleast 6dpo so any faint line since 5dpo can't be a positive. 7dpo is still abit early as alot of women haven't been implanted yet and if they have the HCG wouldn't be very high. I'd wait until atleast tomorrow/a couple days time before taking any second line seriously xx

G3mini2 · 16/05/2023 19:20

@GreenIsle it looks negative on camera but my eyes can see a very faint shadow but it could just be me and my line eyes.

I'll attach another pic with the same lighting that's all I have I threw it in the bin x

@Ttcmumma I'm not taking it seriously it's still early days I just thought I'd test as I've got heaps in and thought why not😂 and my eyes are picking up a shadow

This batch of easy@home tests I have has been giving pretty bad evap lines. In my last cycle I few had evap lines (not all tests) and my period came so I wasn't pregnant.

G3mini2 · 16/05/2023 19:25

@Mountainview8 aww I'm sorry!

That's shattered my hope a little bit😂 I only bought them because it was recommended and saw the reviews were good but I have seen on Mumsnet a few have had evaps

OP posts:
Mountainview8 · 16/05/2023 19:39

@G3mini2 Sorry to have have shattered your hope. Generally I've found them really good, but this box I have has given a few evap lines, so I'm a bit more cautious now. I tested this morning at 9dpo and got an evap (pretty sure it us as it was just one line after 5 mins, I just noticed the second line a few hours later).
But keeping my fingers crossed you do get a positive soon 🤞

VixFromThe6ix · 16/05/2023 19:41

I have used sooooo many easy at home tests and I have never had an evap on them. But obviously that's not too say it can't happen.
Test again in a few days, fingers crossed for you

Emmamoo89 · 16/05/2023 19:46

I've never had evaps. Test again in a few days.

G3mini2 · 16/05/2023 20:01

@Mountainview8 yes exactly I took those pics hours later! I could see something before that though it could have just been my eyes. I was just trying to take pics for a second opinion and I could see it better back if the test by the window (hours later) so it could be an evap x

OP posts:
G3mini2 · 16/05/2023 20:04

@VixFromThe6ix @Emmamoo89 have you gone to check a couple hours later? As this test was like 2 hours old before I took this I've been going back and forth all day because my eyes are picking up something my camera ain't so I put the test to the window and saw the shadow I've been seeing😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm confused as it looks neg I don't even know.

Not testing anymore now till af due I think I tested early thinking I'm going to get a straight neg as I knew I'm far too early to test I just thought why not. Now I'm about to go insane 😂 why do I do this to myself like I didn't learn from last month lol

OP posts:
VixFromThe6ix · 16/05/2023 20:13

Yep.... I'm guilty of throwing it into a trash can and then going back to look at it again later 😜. And other than my actual positives, I never had a line on that test when I wasn't pregnant. That's why I keep buying them because I never had a reason not to trust them.
I have seen enough threads on here to see that even these ones have evaps. It's discouraging no doubt

Swansandcustard · 16/05/2023 20:27

A zygote takes 5 days to become an embryo, with any capability of implantation non existent until then. Hcg is not produced until the embryo implants.

With love, stop torturing yourself.

Ttcmumma · 16/05/2023 20:37

Sorry if I sounded mean, I just wanted you to be aware that it wasn't possible for you to get a positive at 5dpo so whatever your eye is picking up on is highly likely not a positive result. Yet anyway. I say it because I see lines every month that aren't there 😅 I've had 3 pregnancies before (one that actually resulted in a baby) and when you get the positive line you really do know haha. But I torture myself monthly staring, shining lights etc to see a positive that never ends up there. I'd say testing before 8dpo is completely pointless, purely as you're not going to get an accurate result but you're gonna drive yourself crazy! Even 8dpo is abit early but it's possible to get a bfp and I can't sit and pretend I don't do it myself 🤣

I do hope you go on to get an actual positive tho, sending baby dust and best wishes

G3mini2 · 16/05/2023 21:09

@VixFromThe6ix ahahahha I'm guilty of that too😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I had terrible evaps on first response last month it had colour and everything I was sooo torn. The reason why I've tested is because I'm weeing a lot, extreme hunger tender boobs stuffy noise blablabla etc so I'm like "eh why not"😂 I just wish it would be stark white why are my eyes picking up something. I might just want to see it that bad im imagining it. But I Cba defo see what I've been seeing on the pics so I'm at a loss😂 waiting game now x

@Swansandcustard I know I know, but this tww sends me absolute feral😂🤦🏻‍♀️

@Ttcmumma oh no don't worry about I'm sorry if I came across stand-offish. I'm mega early to be testing I know this my symptoms are like "test"😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I actually don't know how many days past ovulation I am according to my app I'm 7dpo I haven't been tracking. But I assume it was right on time as I was having ovulation symptoms on the day (cramps and Tmi water discharge) so I don't even know 😂 yes I have 2 children and not once did I try for them (they are very much loved) but I've tested after my period was due and got a bfp like 10 days past period lol only because I wasn't tracking my cycles. My youngest is 18 months and I really want to give him a sibling close in age as there's a big age gap between my boys x

It takes 5 to 6 days for it to fertilise and go through the blastocyst stage before it reaches the womb. It can take a few days for hcg to build up enough to be detected in urine. 5dpo is way too keen to test and a line at 5dpo is not a positive.
The evap lines are extremely common actually

G3mini2 · 17/05/2023 08:07

@MK85 I know 5dpo is way to early to test but the test on the pics I was 7dpo🤷🏻‍♀️😂 i know still early to test but I saw a shadow and that's why I've jumped on for an opinion. No way have I said it's positive🤦🏻‍♀️

There's another woman on a thread I'm on who tested at 7dpo got a big big bfp on clear blue and first response she tested on a digital at 8dpo and got a positive. It's not impossible it's rare though some some can produce higher hcg levels than others 🤷🏻‍♀️

I know I'm going to get some judgements on my own post 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ but here's an update I tested again at 8dpo and my line has gotten darker. I don't know whether to trust these test because it seems there's marks on them before using them. I can see the outline and test line before using so I'm unsure. It might be an indent I don't know if I should trust this test I'm 9dpo today I'm going to wait till at least 12dpo now and I've told my husband to hide my tests so I can't even re test this morning 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hard to say if it's a positive it's still so faint, I've had alot of squinters that didn't end up positive but doesn't mean you're out yet. Try a different brand in a couple of days just incase these ones are dodgy x

G3mini2 · 18/05/2023 09:28

@Ttcmumma aw I know. I read the reviews before I bought and they're suppose to be really good and reliable but I just don't know😂 I have a first response in I'll probably test with that in a couple days if I am preggers let the hcg rise a little more because I cba with squinting to see. I don't think I'll be buying these tests again I don't know if it's just my batch because I can see the outline of control line and test line before even using so I'm not getting hopes up just yet x

OP posts:
Ttcmumma · 18/05/2023 09:44

I honestly think it's luck of batch with the cheapies, I was using cheapies for about a year with no kind of line and this month's batch I was convinced for days I was getting positive until they never really turned into anything and then af came. Was stark white on frers and clear blues at the same time too so wasn't chemical. Hopefully this is the start of something for you but it's crushing when you get your hopes up for nothing so try not to get excited until a line pops up on that frer. Got everything crossed for you xx

Wednesdaysotherchild · 18/05/2023 09:49

I’ve used them a lot and had faint lines 7dpo - my consultant told me it’s possible to get lines on 7dpo. If there’s colour, it’s not an evap but picking up a faint amount of hcg. If it disappears afterwards then likely a chemical, even if period arrives on time, and chemicals are incredibly common!
