Pregnant or chemical?

Hi, I posted yesterday as it seemed like I got a bfp very early. However I decided to retest again today and the line seems to be fainter unfortunately.

I had a MMC with medical management just over 3 weeks ago and got a negative test on strips but not on FRER.

now after taking the FRER I’m wondering could I still have retained tissue, am I having a chemical or could I be pregnant but I’ve just tested again too soon? Or could the tests be faulty.

I just don’t know what to think but I’m just so worried now the line has gotten lighter. Does anyone have any experiences where they have been pregnant and their line didn’t progress every day?

im not sure how many DPO I am but I thought I was roughly 9/10 yesterday meaning I should be 11dpo today but the line is lighter. I based these estimates based on the first day of MC bleeding, temperature and CM.

any thoughts?

You can get pregnant as soon as two weeks after a chemical. It's hard to really know unfortunately. I would wait for a bleed or wait a few days before testing again. Don't drive yourself crazy testing everyday. If your urine is more diluted the hcg would be weaker and that could be causing the line to look fainter.
9 /11dpo is still early and some women's lines do flucate. Just wait a few days and test

Hi OP, obviously no way to know if this is a new pregnancy or not (and fingers crossed for you) but just to let you know that it took me around 4 weeks to get a completely negative FRER after my MMC (and I had no retained tissue etc.)

Perhaps try taking the same brand of test you took to get the negative after the miscarriage - then if it is now positive that will give you your answer?

@MK85 i think there has been 2 days between the tests as I did test this morning and they still look lighter - I spoke to the midwife and she suggested waiting a few more days before the EPU will see me.

@MrsHsGirl yeah the problem is that I only took cheap strip tests to get my negative so I can’t tell if the frer ever would’ve gone negative. The strip tests are apparently very unreliable and before I even take them they have lines on and I feel that I have been getting faint positives for the last 3 days too but just no progression and it’s not a strong enough line to tell if it’s actually a positive for just an indent 🤷🏽‍♀️

i just feel so so lost. In a way I’d be relived if it’s not a pregnancy at all but I’m also sad if it isn’t. I think I’d be even worse if I knew I was but am now loosing it so soon. This would be my 3rd MC in 5 months so just hoping it would be ok.

fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼 I’m having the same issue, my tests yesterday were much clearer, then today it has been a fainter line so I’m not sure what to think either

may be worth going to your doctor and requesting a blood test to check HCG levels?

@Rachrach98

oh no! My fingers are crossed for you too🤞🏽I took some clear blues the last 2 days and it seemed to get stronger, but today I took another FRER 3 days later and still no progression…

just don’t know what to think. I did head over to the doctors today and they sent me to the hospital. They did an internal scan and the consultant said he did see something in my uterus but he’s not sure wether it’s a new pregnancy or a blood clot as supposedly they look very similar at 4 weeks…

he’s also done me some bloods to check my hcg and those will be repeated on Saturday. My period is normally expected around CD30/31 so I should know if I am pregnant by the end of the weekend and if it’s progressing at all by Monday.

have you been to the doctor for bloods? I think that’s the only way to tell this early and I think it’ll definitely put your mind at ease!

hoping for the best outcome for you❤️

@MummaDaisy your doctors seem a lot better than mine, nearly the weekend so you'll soon know!🤞🏼

I went to my doctors yesterday and she has sent my urine off for testing, but she wouldn't send me for bloods as I'm only 7 days overdue for my period and said it is too soon 🤷🏼‍♀️ so looks like I'm just going have to keep testing and see if I get a period over the next few weeks or not, then if still no sign I'll go back

My tests are getting fainter though so it's not looking promising for me...

@Rachrach98

to be honest I’m very impressed with the doctors. I only just joined as I moved house and they’ve been great to me. It’s such a shame that not all doctors can be like that.

im shocked that they have left you a full week after your period with no answers that’s absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. It’s not fair, all you want is a simple blood test with answers.

they don’t understand that without that we give ourselves hope which makes it worse if something is wrong.

i keep thinking I just know in my gut something is wrong but then I give myself hope but I’m trying not to do that because I knew another MC was likely having 2 before. I just hope for both of us everything is ok ❤️

my frer actually got lighter whereas my clear blue got somewhat darker. So I don’t know if it’s worth seeing on a new brand or if that might make things worse for you? Also remember you’ve only taken those 24 hours apart so not much will have changed in terms on your hcg, I’m hoping it’s just slow progress but we will get there 🤞🏽
