Hi everyone 👋🏽

My first post on here and looking for some advice!

I have the Nexplanon in my arm and this expired the end of last year, I am on the NHS waiting list to have this removed but was told this could take months. I’m aware that the implant will still work, but my partner and I are going to begin the journey to conceive.

He is in his late 30’s and me mid 30’s, neither of us have children or have ever tried so I’m worried that the clock is ticking and we are wasting time. Does anyone have any advice please?

TIA :)

Nothing you can do really until it's removed, you could pay it to have it removed privately?

I actually hadn’t thought of this! Will look at services in my area, I just hope it doesn’t cost a small fortune!

Thank you! Novey x

Maybe your local sexual health clinic? That's where I got mine removed

I’ve never had mine removed on via an NHS waiting list- just an STI clinic. Do be aware that cycles can take up to a year to regulate after having the implant removed. Mine was about 8/9 months. Start taking pre natal vitamins now though, just in case of conception you want to have 3 months in your system really.
