Are ovulation tests always positive if pregnant

Is anyone currently in early pregnancy and getting negative ovulation tests i ask because i am on my first month of letrozole. I am currently 9dpo. My ovulation tests are negative which is what I would expect since I've already ovulated but I continue to take them just to rule out any late ovulation ect as I don't usually ovulate and its my first month so I'm not familiar as to when I would ovulate ect

Anyway

My best friend was around and saw the ovulation test in bathroom and then proceeded to tell me oh your ovulation test is negative. It would be positive if pregnant. I looked this up and apparently its true they can detect hcg. But is that always the case? Are they always definitely positive? Is anyone currently pregnant, and getting negative ovulation tests then?
I was hoping to keep positive for a few days and hope the medication worked but since my friend came around I feel so depressed that the medication hasn't worked

I always get positive ovulation tests when pregnant

In my experience, they were negative in very early pregnancy but showing positives when pregnancy tests had faint lines, earliest was around 10dpo for me. Saying that, I also had strong positives before my period as LH can surge before period starts as well. So it’s not an exact science either way.

My ovulation test was negative when I got my 1-2 weeks on Clear Blue (and a faint line on a cheapy). It got steadily darker and became positive after a few days.

Yes I had positive ovulation when pregnant.
On a basic cellular level LH and HCG look the same so ovulation tests can't tell the difference (pregnancy tests on the other hand can)

An ovulation test is how I discovered I was pregnant! They show pregnancy before any pregnancy test will - as long as you know you're def not ovulating

Yes, I found out I was pregnant with an ovulation test as I didn’t have any pregnancy tests in the house

Hi OP I saw your post yesterday and it intidgued me. I'm currently around 7 weeks pregnant so I did an ovulation and pregnancy test with the same urine and my pregnancy test is very much positive but the ovulation test is negative, it has a very fain line on there but definitely not dark enough to be anywhere near positive.

It's also worry noting that I didn't have a positive pregnancy test until 14dpo with my last pregnancy, and that was very faint. I also didn't get a positive test until I was over a week late this time, or what I thought was a week late, I'm assuming I ovulated later than expected.

Don't give up hope 😊
Good luck ttc x
