My period is due in 3 days and I have a positive ovulation test?

Hi everyone.
I am new to mumsnet, happy to be here. I am not actively ttc but not preventing pregnancy either. I saw on TikTok a comment from a user saying that it is possible to get a positive ovulation test when pregnant. My period is due in 3 days-ish and for the fun of it I decided to take an ovulation test and it came back positive, or at least I think it is. I have also heard that ovulation tests are not positive if the T line is lighter than the C line. Has anyone had a positive opk followed by a positive hpt? I would run to the store and buy a pregnancy test, but where I am from they are expensive. So I kinda want to wait to buy a test until either my period is late or if anyone here might think I should buy one.

None of us can tell you..only a test can. If you're able to wait then wait. If you can't wait then go and get one

I'm used an ovulation test when testing for pregnancy and it was correct.

It's possible to have a LH surge before your period which will show as a positive ovulation test, just as it's possible to have a positive ovulation test when pregnant. The only way of knowing which it is picking up for you, is to do a pregnancy test!

I got positive ovulation tests 3 days on the run prior to my BFP. Ended in a chemical but the ovulation tests were still positive for a few days after I got the negative pregnancy tests too. It can definitely detect hcg in your system

They do detect hcg, but you also tend to have a surge in LH just before your period. So it really isn’t a good indicator of whether or not you are. Better to wait a few days and see if af comes
