Am I having a chemical pregnancy? :(

For the first time in almost two years I have had 3 faint positives on my pregnancy tests. Yesterday morning was the strongest line of them all but since then they are all negative.

Since Friday I've had light brown when I wipe that comes and goes but I am cramping too. I've also had incredibly painful breasts for almost a week and I do keep feeling 'sicky/starving'. My periods due tomorrow or Tuesday and I'm approx 12-13dpo as I ovulated late.

I've never had any positive lines whatsoever before so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Is this likely to be a sign of implantation, a chemical pregnancy or nothing at all and it's just my period coming? ☹️

Is there any chance the most recent tests were negative because you tested when you were better hydrated? Or because the test was less sensitive than the one you got the stronger result with?

@HavinKittens

It was taken first thing this morning :(

I think it's the brown when I wipe that's making me think that this is over (if it even began!) I do usually get spotting before my period but not like this - this seems different :(

Ah I’m sorry that sounds confusing and stressful. I can’t think of any other reason you’d test negative and still be pregnant. I guess time will tell but that doesn’t make it any easier for you.

@HavinKittens

It's ok, I'm very much used to it!
Thank you for your help xx

@mustangsallie What you've described sounds implantation bleeding to me. If it's brown, it's old blood that has just made it's way out of the uterus. It can also be very light pink or orange if it's mixed in with cervical mucus. I have my fingers crossed for you.

@SarahShorty

Really?!
It has been mainly an orangey brown but I've had it since Friday. Would it last this long?

@mustangsallie I've had three biochemicals, one via IVF. It can last a few days for some people as everyone is different. The main difference between implantation spotting and period is the colour, amount and duration. Orangey-brown is a mix of light pink spotting and cervical mucus, which is consistent with implantation bleeding. If it was a period, it'd have got heavier by now going from brown to rich red. I really hope this is your one.

Not sure if this is helpful but my implantation bleeding / spotting lasted 4 to 5 days on my first and she's now 3. Was mainly all brown / peachy colour and very light x

I had this exact same thing with my (now 18 month old) dd
IVF baby and the day before and day period was due I was spotting brown blood and a bit of pink tinge blood as well. Lasted about a day and a half, only there when I wiped but it was pure panic for me that entire time. I literally begged the universe to make it stop
It did stop but I kept thinking it would come flooding back. Thankfully all was okay at my 7 week scan and continued on to be so. I think it must have been implantation

They say brown blood is old blood so a much better sign
Sending lots of positivity your way lovely and hoping for a similar outcome to mine ❤️

Thank you so much everyone.

Unfortunately I've had more tonight which is like a pinky colour - this has actually bled into my knickers so I'm worried it is my period starting/chemical. I feel like that would be too much for implantation. ☹️😭
