I've had my first round of IVF and everything people say about the 2WW is true - it's torture!

I'm 11 days post transfer (official test day from the clinic is Monday, 14 days after transfer) and was getting negatives until yesterday. A couple of very faint lines, and now this one this evening. Today I'm having brown discharge/blood, which at one point earlier was streaked with red. Would you feel optimistic?

That's a fairly good line for a clear blue I think. I was better than the line I had at 10DPO on one of these. Really would recommend the FRER tests if you can get some x

RunningOnHope · 05/05/2023 20:35

Ah thanks for your reply @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 – I've never used clearblue before this round, but since it was what my wife brought home I've stuck with them to be able to compare tests. But I think I'll get FRERs for official test day on Monday, so hopefully I can be confident on how strong the line is before phoning the clinic to tell them either way.

It looks really good I reckon, was it within the time line? 😊

Straight away - within a minute I'd say. The two fainter ones this morning and yesterday morning came up within the time frame too, but this mornings one really was faint... so surprised to see a better one tonight!

No problem. Goo luck for Monday x

Sounds really promising!! 😁❤️ Will you test again tomorrow? Fingers crossed for you! 🤞

No more clear blues in the house now (and I'm afraid of using a cheapie because of the comparison...!) and a very busy day tomorrow. So I might have to leave it til Sunday, which would be no bad thing...

It looks like a good line but personally I wouldn’t trust it. Look at other threads and loads of people have had lines in clearblue when they haven’t actually been pregnant. Get a pink dye test. Frer or boots own early result are really good.

RunningOnHope · 06/05/2023 21:56

A little darker today I think.

I understand PP concern about blue dye tests but not when the line is so clearly positive. It’s not a squinter! I’d be cautious until the official test date but yes I’d say it looks good. How has the discharge been?

RunningOnHope · 06/05/2023 22:25

Thanks @PurBal. It got stronger and started to turn from brown to red today but then eased right off again this evening, especially after my progesterone pessary (could be coincidence!) It's such a rollercoaster every time I go to the loo...

Definitely looks 100% positive.
Good luck

If you're taking cyclogest I'd switch to rectally. It always causes irritation for me when used vaginally, which could be causing your spotting. Good luck.

RunningOnHope · 07/05/2023 09:26

Thanks @seven201. The bleeding has become heavier and more like a period so I don't think this is going to have a happy ending.

@RunningOnHope I'm really sorry. Do another test tomorrow morning as that's your clinic test day and then call them and see what they advise. Keep taking your meds. I've been there with ivf, it's a tough place to be. Bleeding can just be random, but very worrying I know.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 09/05/2023 02:13

@RunningOnHope I bled heavy day before OTD. My boys is now 3! The Pessary caused lots of bleeding for me.

Good luck

PurBal · 09/05/2023 08:37

@RunningOnHope how are you doing today?

RunningOnHope · 09/05/2023 08:40

@PurBal thanks for checking in. Lots of pain yesterday and the heavy bleeding included some white/grey 'tissue' I guess, so I think it's over. Quite relieved to get past the pain, but really sad.

Because my test was a stronger positive yesterday morning, the clinic have said to keep going with meds and test again in Weds/Thurs.

This was yesterdays test. Feels too dark to call it a chemical, I guess early miscarriage feels better to me.

So sorry to hear this 💔

PurBal · 09/05/2023 09:04

I’m sorry to hear your news. Yes, the test definitely looks positive and I agree miscarriage sounds right. Bleeding in early pregnancy isn’t unusual so I think the clinic are right to suggest testing again but its a long wait. My thoughts are with you. Huge hugs.

@Pinkmoon23 @PurBal the kindness of strangers has really helped. Thank you xx

@RunningOnHope sorry to read this. Do keep on the meds just in case, although I know from experience how annoying that is. Thinking of you x

RunningOnHope · 09/05/2023 20:25

@seven201 Absolutely. As long as the tests are still strong and positive, I'll keep up the meds - it might be the tiniest chance, but it would be daft to come off them before there's evidence of hormones coming down.
