How long do OPK’s stay positive for?

Hi all,

this is my first cycle tracking for baby number 2 and I start to get positive OPK’s on Monday, with a peak yesterday morning. My question is, how long do OPK’s usually stay positive? I done another test this morning and it was still positive, but not as strong as it was yesterday morning. This is also my first cycle since having the coil removed and I didn’t ovulate until cycle day 30😩 so my next question is when will I be ‘due’ on my period? Is it still 14 days after ovulation even if I ovulated late?

sorry for the long post!

Hiya
They can stay positive for a couple of days. I had the coil removed last October and it took a couple of cycles for my periods to settle into a regular flow and to start ovulating properly. I had it in for 10 years so probably why it took a while.
Your luteal phase tends to be between 12-16 days but for most women it’s the same every month (however mine ranges from 13-15)
If you had a positive OPK yesterday then you’ll likely ovulate 24-36 hours after it and AF would come 12-16 days after that.
It’s all a guessing game when you’ve just come off any form of contraceptive and can take a little while to settle down. That being said you can get pregnant quickly so just get busy when you start seeing your OPKs getting darker.
best of luck x
