2 LH peaks 8 days apart!

Hi Everyone

So this is my first month ttc and I bought all the gadgets and gizmos! I used a clear blue monitor starting on CD6, and on CD7 I got a "high" day so my estrogen had started to go up. Then, not sure what made me do it but early evening I did a separate opk and got a static smiley! Tested twice and said the same thing. I got really worried as I have a regular 28/29 day cycle and wasn't expecting to ovulate so early! I get fairly reliable boob pain in the week or so before my period so assumed I ovulated around the same time each month. Anyway I tried to forget it and put it down to stress triggering it early. I kept testing on my monitor (as it demanded!) but just kept getting high days until, to my surprise, I got a peak day yesterday on day 15! I double checked on my cheapie opks and it was definitely an LH surge. I don't think I ever really get loads of ewcm so can't really check for that. I have been cramping somewhat. But I'm really confused! Anyone else had this? Is it normal? Which one was the ovulation!? Thanks <3

Do you do bbt too? LH peak is just your body attempting to ovulate, a rise in bbt is what confirms it successfully did so. There's a chance your body attempted to ovulate early but didn't so then went on to try again with another LH surge. It's hard to say if and when you definitely ovulated without bbt x

Thanks for your reply) I've been trying to avoid adding anything else to my ttc regimen as I don't want it to take over my life but maybe I do need to do that - I'll think about it for next month :)

@Elz1406 completely understand! I'm considering scrapping lh tests and bbt for a couple of months myself as it's driving my anxiety crazy! But yeah unfortunately LH peak alone doesn't confirm a definite ovulation. Being a woman is stressful!

I have chatted to people on here who have sacked it all off for a couple of months and it seems to have helped MH wise! It is very hard. My DH is so lovely but however lovely he is the vast majority of the ttc burden falls on the woman by necessity. I hope you get your BFP soon!!

Hi! New to mumsnet as I want to see if anyone else experiences the same thing.

I’m on my ninth month TTC.

i have a 34 day cycle and I usually ovulate day 19-21, using OPKs and tracking CM. A week after ovulation, I then get a second lh surge resulting in a second positive OPK with EWCM. My period then starts at 9dpo, after the second LH surge. This happens pretty much every cycle.

On my sixth cycle, I decided to go for a monitored cycle at a clinic to gain an understanding of my cycles. The doctor proved ovulation on day 19 and then I went back for a check up a week after to check my progesterone levels. The day before my check up, I had a positive LH test, however on my visit, the doctor confirmed that there was no egg released and that the secondary LH rises were likely to be hormonal changes.

Now on my 8th cycle, started my period today - at supposedly 9 days after the secondary LH rise. Feeling hopeless!

Sorry, a very long message and hopefully not too confusing as it feels!
