Anovulation & Soy isoflavones with no period in sight advice..

Hi everyone, I am at desperate doors to be blessed with a family with my husband and at 42 I don’t have much time. We have been 3 years with not even a faint line in sight and gynocology have said we will need IVF…it’s me with the problem, I don’t think I ovulate hence the anovulation and irregular cycles.

So after much research over the last few days I am wanting to give soy isoflavones a try.

A couple of questions I have…
Can I just start them today and if so how long should I take them for bearing in mind I am now on CD47.

Should I take them for 5 days (even though I’ve not got AF) and hope for ovulation to begin anyway? Or take them up to ovulation (if I ovulate on them) and then stop?

Or should I wait for AF to start BUT I don’t know when that will be, what if it doesn’t come for another 2-3 months and I’ve wasted that time?

Thank you x

Hope this helps someone..
I have same problem, anovulation and no periods..
I use progesterone cream after 60days of no period.. this is to ensure my uterus is not too thick from no periods.. PC helps me bleed

I have only just started SI this cycle, fingers crossed.. how are you ladies?

Hi there, I am today on CD58 and I took SI on CD 2-7 (I think!), I'm sure my body keeps trying to ovulate but failing as I am getting watery discharge and feel like my body is trying to produce ewcm - I have had it slightly just the once one day last week but my temps are really erratic so its not happened yet. I'm also getting quite a bit of a dull achy uterus as if something is trying to happen. My nipples are tender and seem to be protruding quite a bit (tmi) so my hormones must be doing something!

I think I am peri-menopausal now though due to my absent cycles, I seem to be missing 3-4 then having one and so on. I have asked my GP to refer me to a private clinic as I want my AMH testing to see if we have any chance at conceiving, which I doubt it after 4 years now but its just something that I am clinging onto.

I took soy twice, and each time I got pregnant and had an early loss. I had a pregnancy before these times which was healthy.

Please do not take soy isoflavones - I strongly advise against it. While it can induce ovulation, it also messes up the balance of hormones which can lead to loss.

To induce a period you can take progesterone for a few days and then stop. (The progesterone only contraceptive pill).

To clarify, I also have long irregular cycles.

Thank you for the advice @Plumchumm I can't even get pregnant from taking anything at all so won't be taking them again. I don't even think my hormones are unbalanced anymore, more its just my age and peri-menopause causing the long and irregular cycles. I've been having reflexology for the last 9 months, originally it was on the advice from the nurse at the doctors surgery to balance out hormones (and I had prayed that it would help me ovulate) but now I just really enjoy that hour of pure relaxation so am carrying on with that x
