Hello

My period was due yesterday and I had night sweats that I always get in lead up to period but I decided to do a test as felt a bit funny. I got the faintest line on an internet cheap strip (see photo) and so did a clear blue digital ultra early straight away and it says pregnant! Do the cheap tests normally have a faint line initially ?

I'm so anxious that it won't stick and that my period will start. TMI but feel I'm getting lots of discharge that I assume is period starting and turns out to be just white discharge . It's really anxiety provoking . Is lots of discharge normal ?

I've never been or tried to get pregnant before and I'm 39.

Those are positive tests, and yes discharge changes are normal in pregnancy.
I did lots of tests when I was first pregnant as I couldn’t quite believe it, so I imagine you will want to test again in a few days, best of luck OP !

@SirVixofVixHall thanks so much! I’m utterly shocked. Had this dreary fertility results a year ago with low AMH and assumed it would be really hard.

when did you stop checking and just enjoy it ?I’m so anxious !

Congratulations OP!
Maybe you're anxious because there are so many threads on here about pregnancies going wrong, but it's looking good so far for you.
The discharge is normal.

TheShellBeach · 29/04/2023 13:03

And yes, the cheap tests do usually have faint lines at this stage.

Congratulations!

The cheapies definitely need more HCG to give dark lines as they aren't very sensitive. Try not to obssess about strength of lines or line progression. You are pregnant 🤰 🥰 you're bound to be filled with worry but really there is nothing you can do. Aside from keeping healthy, taking your vitamins and avoiding alcohol, etc. It's out of your control (as difficult as that is).

Wish you a happy and healthy 9 months !

I think it took a few weeks to sink in to be honest. I was forty so I had assumed it might take a while but it didn’t. I must have done a test every two days for the first fortnight !
I didn’t really relax until after the first scan though.
