Does it matter what time of night

Hey,

Just a quick question.
I am due to ovulate on the 6th April. My partner will come home late due to his work pattern on that specific weekend.

Does it matter how late we have sex during that day. He be home roughly 11:30pm that weekend and that's the day I will ovulate. we will do the deed following up to ovulation. Im just worried as on the day of ovulation we will do the deed very late at night.

Thanks everyone in advance

How would the human race ever have reproduced if you needed to have sex at a particular time of day or night to conceive?

I assure you, sperm don't underperform if sleep-deprived.

I just don't want to miss my ovulation time as the egg is only released for 24 hours ?

People conceive by having sex a week before ovulation. Sperm hang around. You are way overthinking this.

I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant and the month I fell, we had sex once which was 4 days before I ovulated (confirmed with a blood test).

Another pregnancy (miscarriage) we had sec once and that was 2 days after ovulation.

Don't overthink it! Good luck!

How do you know what time you will ovulate though? It could be 00.01 that morning or 23.59 that night? It’s also not a guarantee that the egg will be around for 24 hours after ovulation. It’s more like 12 hrs, often less and sometimes up to 24 hours.
This is why it’s important to have sex before ovulation- sperm can live up to 5 days. So as long as you’ve have sex in the days before ovulation that’s what matters.

Ok, thank you so much for your reply.
I understand now so much more. My worries have calmed. TTC journey is so stressful in itself and I'm the type of person that won't rest until I feel reassured.

I’m 23 weeks pregnant and we didn’t dtd on ovulation day. We did day before ovulation, 2 days before ovulation and 4 days before ovulation.
