Hi everyone, I am 39 and have a two year old son. I had a medical termination in December 2022 and have been TTC since (4 months) with no success yet. I went to a private fertility clinic who did an AMH blood test on me and my ovarian reserve is quite low at 5. I’m really into the importance of Positive Mental Attitude in all this which is hard as I am prone to worrying and panicking. We really want another child. Pls can people share their positive stories of natural pregnancies at a similar stage in life to me? Could really do with a pick-me-up! Thanks x

Hi @Harrjenk I have a positive story for you. We had a child when I was 34 who is now 8. For unknown reasons, didn't conceive for years afterwards. I had all the tests - hycosy etc... but there was no obvious reason from either of us. We effectively gave up and gave the baby stuff away. Then at 41, I was amazed to conceive. I'm less than 6 weeks away from the big day now. The only advice I can give is have lots of sex, take a vitamin like pregnacare and cut down a bit on drinking. I don't know if those things made a difference to me but that's what I was doing when I conceived.

@Boughtitdownthemarket yay, thank you so much for posting! That’s so nice to hear and congratulations. Thanks for the advice, I’ve started taking a fertility supplement and I’m not much of a drinker. We’ve also stopped tracking ovulation etc and just having sex every other day as I was advised that it was probably making me feel stressed. Hope everything goes well for you!!

I spent a year actively TTC before getting pregnant naturally at 41. My daughter is healthy, no major problems during the pregnancy and she's 15 months now.

I'm now 43 and we've been TTC number 2 for 5 months. Currently my period is 2 days late and I have faint positives on a cheapie stick 😊

All the best TTC your number 2.

We ditched the ovulation trackers and just DTD around my rough fertility window which definitely reduced stress! And it appears to have worked twice!

@Littlemiss42andfabulous thank you so much for sharing your story! Really hope you are definitely pregnant- keep me posted! Thanks for the advice, it definitely feels right to try and take a more relaxed approach than stressing about ovulation sticks. X

@Harrjenk i am so sorry for you loss it’s absolutely soul destroying and even though you think you are ready our bodies are just such strange things and maybe it’s not ready yet, losing a baby takes it’s toll and hormones are crazy things, they don’t let up even when we think we are ok. X

. We are 2 months in ttc baby 3, we I’m 39 and we lost our little boy in December just shy of 24 weeks due to an infection in the water. We were advised to wait to try again until all the results came back … which have now taken 17 weeks so I have missed what probably was my most fertile time. January and February I had my 1st proper periods and it was text book perfect 31 day cycle both lasted 5 days, exactly as there were prior to being pregnant. We fell of the wagon and d it don’t use any form of protection in March a week before my period was due … low and behold my March period never came, every test I did was negative, the ovulation tests I had done in March I got my peak so I knew somewhere along the line the possibility was there (slim but there) cycle day 40 still no AF I went to the doctors and all was well but still negative pregnancy tests. Cycle day 47 I got My AF, super heavy and painful to the point I stayed in bed for a day which is something I have never done. After 5 days it ended and that same week I got another peak, this time more symptoms, cramping, twinges and bloating along with a bit of nausea, we have dtd almost every day for over a week, my Dh doesn’t want to know about the ovulation and temps and when i need his man jouice (as he now calls it) he said he just wants to enjoy the making and not stress about the outcome, so here’s hoping this month is normal for me and we either get a BFP or i have a nice healthy 31 day cycle …. Here’s to my 2WW 😩
