Pregnancy vs AF - Nipple pain

Hi ladies - I know everyone is different but interested to hear your experiences with nipples!!
Mine have been sore & painful for 6 days now. My breasts in general haven't been achy or tender, it's very specifically my nipples.
I tested today but it came up negative. It's my first cycle off the pill so I don't know when I ovulated or when AF is due but I'm on CD21 today.
I know breast tenderness can be both a pregnancy & AF symptom but from what I'm reading nipple pain seems more linked to pregnancy but open to hear your experiences either way! x

I get sore nipples just before ovulation and a few days leading up to AF, then the day before it arrives they go back to normal so I normally know when it’s on its way. I had a chemical pregnancy last month and they were sore for days leading up to my positive pregnancy test and continued for about a week after I got the negative tests. I’ve also had sore nipples when I was taking certain TTC vitamins (seven seas) throughout the whole cycle x

@BB2023 hi :) I would always get such sore nipples before my period! As soon as AF arrived they wouldn't hurt anymore usually with quite swollen boobs.
I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant and haven't really had as sore nipples and my breasts have not been sore at all the whole way through. Everyone is different though. If you've only just come off the pill I reckon you will start to figure out what your usually period symptoms are.

@BB2023 I only ever get sore nipples when I’m pregnant, the other months I just get sore boobs so for me it’s definitely an indicator!

My nipples changed alot this month and I got a bfn so I guess it can mean anything!

Thanks ladies! Appreciate the replies. Just seems odd it's just the nips rather than boobs as a whole 🤣 Last time I had sore nips was 11yrs ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. Sure my body & hormones have changed since then so defo not reading too much into it. Just in a weird limbo waiting around for something to happen! 🤣
