Missed period, not pregnant

Feeling a bit gutted. We aren't TTC but I’d have loved a second DC.

I’m on CD38, the latest I have ever been except when pregnant (usual cycle is 27-29 days). My boobs hurt, but that’s all really. I’m 38 years old. Could be peri, but I’m young for it. 5 negative tests, the latest this morning.

Hand holds would be appreciated, and also any suggestions/ideas?

No explanation or words of wisdom unfortunately but a hand hold as I'm in the same boat. Cycle day 45 for me today. I'm only 26 so wondering how long to leave it before giving GP a ring? It's the worst getting a negative test and having no reason why your body isn't doing the thing it normally does!!

vicaragechristmas · 20/04/2023 07:34

Hey @tobi21, we talked on your thread before. So sorry you’re dealing with this too. I’m feeling quite depressed and deflated today, and I need to pick myself up as we are on holiday and it's our last full day.

If I were you I’d call the GP now - I intend to on Monday when we are back home. I want to ring them today but that isn’t realistic.

Just wish I knew what was going on. I didn’t realise how badly I wanted to be pregnant until it became 100% clear that I’m not.

@vicaragechristmas sorry I didn't realise 🤦🏼‍♀️ hello again. I was debating making an appointment but the NHS website says to contact the GP after 3 missed periods so not sure I want to try and beg for a consultation if I'll just be shut down.

I feel similarly to you in that I didn't expect to feel sadness at negative test results. I've given up testing now I'm 99% sure I'm not pregnant. But then the mind wanders to thinking about what is going ON in there. I don't know if your surgery is registered with the MyGP app, but I can book appointments on there without having to ring first. It may put your mind at ease if you have an appointment made, then at least you can look forward to starting investigations.

Hey! I am 21 and about 4/5 days late for my period, negative tests and feeling very off. No clue what’s going on:(

vicaragechristmas · 20/04/2023 21:07

Off in what way, @mama1111? I’m sorry you’re going through this too. It is so tedious.

I managed to enjoy today despite angsting over my missing period…

Currently my "symptoms", such as they are, are:

  1. Sore boobs, which I haven’t had as a premenstrual symptom in years, only a pregnancy one.
  2. Tubercles have appeared on my nipples again - this was noticeable during my last pregnancy but I can’t decide whether it’s just the different light in our holiday home that’s making me notice them!
  3. Weeing a bit more than usual - but not lots.
  4. One that’s personal to me, but I have Chronic Fatigue which goes away when I’m pregnant. I’ve been experiencing symptoms including post exertional malaise for the last few months, but this week I’ve managed some seriously hefty amounts of exercise with absolutely no problems, so my fatigue has lifted. Is it just because I’m on holiday? (Unlikely I think) or is it a hormonal thing?
  5. Intermittent nausea but that could be anxiety as much as pregnancy. Impossible to tell.

I’m so fed up with it all!

pretty similar to you tbh. also got these faint lines but i believe it’s a chemical pregnancy if one at all

Missed period, not pregnant
tobi21 · 21/04/2023 09:13

@mama1111 sorry you're also going through this is so frustrating. Are you going to test again? Let us know how you get on x
@vicaragechristmas so glad you got to enjoy your day, the thoughts around this can be so consuming can't they. It's such an interesting point about your chronic fatigue, it definitely sounds like there is some change going on in your body!

I've also had some nausea and have been sick once yesterday, but like you said it's so hard to figure out if the anxiety of this is causing physical symptoms. Still no sign of AF here. I told myself no more tests because surely if I was pregnant it would've been picked up by now, but I'm approaching a 50 day cycle soon and it's hard to fight the urge to test

mama1111 · 21/04/2023 09:27

tested again this morning and looks pretty negative, still no period and stuck in limbo

Katiex84x · 21/04/2023 09:33

Same here. Day 47 of cycle now. Normally very regular 28-32 days. Had a positive test in day 33 with sore boobs but negative by day 35 and still no period. GP isn’t worried but I’m completely stuck in limbo it’s horrible

winteralready · 21/04/2023 11:24

Any chance you've recently had covid? Messed up my cycles for a while.

mama1111 · 21/04/2023 13:52

don’t think for me, had some pink discharge last night and thought here she is, but nothing since 🙄

vicaragechristmas · 21/04/2023 14:11

No covid here, nothing out of the ordinary, in fact. I’m on CD39 now, still have breast pain and a bit of nausea and I’m pretty tired (but I did have a broken night so 🤷‍♀️)

@tobi21 I’ve just seen the NHS advice about waiting for 3 missed periods before seeking advice - but what about potential ectopic pregnancies, missed miscarriages etc?? Now I’m not sure whether I should ring on Monday or not sigh

beingwithbella03 · 22/04/2023 09:46

Hope you don't mind me jumping on ladies, 4 days late for af for no good reason! Tests negative :( driving me mad!

tobi21 · 22/04/2023 12:42

@beingwithbella03 you're in the right place we are all going mad here!!

beingwithbella03 · 22/04/2023 14:10

@tobi21 I'm glad I'm not the only one but also know how horrible it is! So disheartening being in this limbo I'm in such a horrible mood all the time because of it!

vicaragechristmas · 23/04/2023 13:22

Thank you all for keeping me company, but I’m sorry you’re all struggling with this too. I ended up crying over it yesterday, but I’m starting to feel pre menstrual so hopefully my period will show up over the next day or two.

How's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
tobi21 · 23/04/2023 14:28

Hey @vicaragechristmas so sorry you're having a hard time Sad it really is shit being in this limbo. Still no sign of AF here. Trying my best to not think about it but struggling, doesn't help when you chat to someone irl and they are "convinced" you are pregnant. I am seriously considering asking the GP for a blood test now, I have a mixed anxiety disorder which I take medication for and would like answers before my mental health suffers

beingwithbella03 · 23/04/2023 16:56

Still no af and bfn this morning :(

vicaragechristmas · 23/04/2023 18:34

Sending you all hugs. It is super stressful!

@tobi21 I also struggle with MH and sympathise. Call the GP, the worst that can happen is they tell you to come back in a week or so, but it is worth investigating if there could be another cause. My mind keeps going to ectopic pregnancies and MMCs.

I’m managing to distract myself with planning a vicarage garden party for the coronation - how did I end up as a vicar's wife ffs 🤦‍♀️😆 it's like a fucking Agatha Christie novel (minus the murders)!

OP posts:
vicaragechristmas · 23/04/2023 22:55

As I suspected, my period arrived this evening. It has been a horrible time of suspense but I’m glad it's over for me, at least.

Hope you all get yours soon too xx

OP posts:
tobi21 · 24/04/2023 03:05

@vicaragechristmas thanks for keeping us updated, at least you aren't stuck in limbo anymore I hope it's a relief for you. Hopefully you can enjoy planning the coronation party even more now now you have an answer x

tobi21 · 24/04/2023 09:44

well there must be something in the air because AF arrived for me this morning too!! was shocked as had no cramping or sign she was on her way, but feeling relieved

katie416 · 24/04/2023 10:08

Hi ladies. Can I join? Feeling so down. Me & my other half have just decided that we’d start trying for baby no 2, our DD is 20 months old and we ideally want to have another before she’s 3. I should have come on my period Thursday but no show and I’m now 4 days late which has never ever happened in the whole time I’ve been having periods apart from when I was pregnant with DD. I was totally in denial I was pregnant with her and didn’t test until at least a week after my missed period but the line was a definite dye stealer. I’ve taken a cheapy strip test every day since I was due on and all BFNs. My boobs are sore but that’s probably the only symptom I have. Just have this really horrible feeling. X

Legoladyp · 24/04/2023 10:11

I believe these are chemical pregnancies. I am super sensitive to pregnancy and have been in the same boat but started puking then came on my period. I don’t think the pregnancy is progressing hence the negative tests but your body isn’t letting go of the pregnancy yet.

beingwithbella03 · 24/04/2023 13:12

@vicvicaragechristmas @tobi21 I'm so glad you both have some answers now 🩷
