Long story short, I've got Generalised anxiety and have been on and off tablets for years, the last year I've been off, but due to a new stressful job and probably partly due to my MC earlier this year I'm feeling like I could be doing with being back on them again

I've put in a consult to the doctor, but I wondered if any of you lovely people have stories of TTC with also being on any AD's? I'm trying to hold off taking anything (as you do) and I know the last one zapped my libido which is not ideal when TTC! But I'm assuming that due to a vast amount of people being on some sort of tablets these days that it's quite common??

Incredibly common. The midwives will probably pay more attention to your mental health but that’s not a bad thing.

Why exactly are you trying to hold off?

thanks @Sleepygrumpyandnothappy I just don't like the side effects/feel like it's just a stressful period that I'll come through in a few weeks/dont want anything to affect TTC but i'll be speaking to the doctor when they call, just wanted to see if anyone had real life experience, as I figured it would be super common 😀

Following with interest, my concerns are about the baby and wondering about withdrawl when born.. even though i am only on a very low dose, i know how rubbish it can feel to miss one or two!

My midwives were very unfazed about withdrawal. I asked whether I should wean off during pregnancy (as I felt able to mentally) and they strongly advised against on the grounds that it’s better not to disrupt your mood when you’re already dealing with pregnancy hormones.

I’m on antidepressants because I’m struggling to conceive. I didn’t want to take them for all the reasons you and other posters have mentioned but it got to the point I didn’t really have much choice. My GP and fertility consultant both assured me it was fine and very common.
