How fast is folic acid absorbed?

I’ve recently been taking the 5mg tablets but wondering is folic acid a vitamin that your body can build up a store of quite quickly? Or does it take a while?

I've never been pregnant so this knowledge is from being folate deficient but they told me it should rise taking the tablets in a few weeks and I was tested a few months later and it was up to normal.
I was told to take with vit c & iron so eg with lunch with spinach in it and and orange.
Also not to drink caffeine for a while before and after taking.

I didn’t know that about caffeine I will try to make sure I avoid coffee for a while before and after taking it. I have the high strength folic acid on prescription but have only been on it 3 weeks

Not very helpful, but all I can say is def within 6 months. Long before ever TTC I was deficient (found out from a routine blood test) the GP put me on high prescription ones too and re-tested me 6 months later and they were perfect.

If you are waiting to TTC I'd ask for bloods to be redone in 1 month.
