No bleeding after a chemical? Can anyone help?

So Saturday at 14DPO I had a positive test and since then they’ve become fainter, todays is barely visible.
Ive still got sore boobs and do not feel like AF is coming and I’m now a week late.
Has anyone had a chemical and not had any bleeding?
I’ve spoken to the midwife at the epu on advice from my GP and she’s told me to step away from the tests and test again in a week but I know it’s not good news.
Can you have a chemical with no bleeding and just go onto the next cycle?
Any help appreciated I just don’t feel like there’s any information out there

I’ve had a pregnancy confirmed at very early scan and subsequently lost, followed up with medical management at 6/7 weeks but zero bleeding.
It was emotionally very tough and confusing. There was no moment to begin to heal emotionally.

But my body cleared the entire pregnancy with no retained products and no bleed.

And yes my body continued as usual afterwards, nothing out of the ordinary. I can’t remember if my next period was on time or not but it certainly wasn’t in any way memorable

@HairyKitty thank you and sorry you went through that.
So did you need medical management or did you just go into next cycle without bleeding?

I had the medical management which resulted in no bleeding at all, zero, until my next scheduled period which was like normal, maybe a week or so late

@Katiex84x I had a chemical a couple of months ago my tests were positive for 4 days and then it was still another 2/3 days until I started bleeding. Sometimes even though hcg is going down quickly it takes your body longer to reduce its progesterone.

Katiex84x · 12/04/2023 19:41

@Cary88 thank you. I think I'll just have to wait it out. Last period was 5th march seems like so long ago. Just want to get on with it now, really hope I can do it naturally as I don't want to go down the medical management route

I’ve had a few chemical pregnancies now and am going through my current one. My levels are taking a while to drop and I’ve been sent for more blood tests tomorrow. I’d like to know if anyone did anything differently for a successful outcome?

Still no bleeding, I’m going insane 😵‍💫 never wanted af to turn up so much
Hate being stuck in limbo like this

Honestly @Katiex84x I found people who haven’t had the no bleed experience underestimate how much it messes with your head and heart, there’s kind of no conclusion

Hi @Katiex84x sorry to hear you’re going through a chemical, it’s really no fun at all. I had one in December and wrote a post practically the mirror image of yours at the time. In the end I started bleeding eight days after my first negative test (or at least so faint it was barely visible). It felt like such a long time as I just wanted to draw a line under the whole thing so I know how you’re feeling.

I fell pregnant the following cycle (during which I ovulated about a week later than I usually would) and am now 12 weeks so it seems true that you’re more fertile after a chemical. Hope the same goes to you :) xx

Katiex84x · 13/04/2023 20:13

@HairyKitty it’s just the not knowing what’s happening and not being able to move on isn’t it? I hope you got a happy outcome in the end 💗

@LucyEleanorModeratz thanks so much for this and sorry you went through that but massive congratulations! 😊
Ive had some very light AF type cramps yesterday evening and this evening so hopefully something is happening 🤞🏼and I really hope it’s true about being more fertile afterwards!
GP said today that some women don’t bleed at all and just have a normal period 4 weeks later as usual which I find bizarre!
Trying to take the positives that I am actually ovulating (had coil out after 7 years in October so wasn’t sure) and that I can still get pregnant.
So happy you’ve had a lovely outcome after the experience x

Just to update this thread in case anyone is in a similar position in the future as there really is no help out there and it’s rare that it happens.
After the GP booked a scan for me I’ve now FINALLY started bleeding nearly 4 weeks after my chemical. I didn’t ovulate at all in between just took a while for the bleeding to start.
I’m just so relieved and happy I can now move onto to another cycle and not be stuck in limbo anymore
