Brown discharge on CD25 - could this be implantation bleeding?

We are TTC #1. My cycle has been fairly irregular since coming off the Pill last August - I get my period anything from day 28 to day 42. (Pre-pill it used to arrive on day 25.)

We’ve only started properly trying this cycle and I’m not doing OPKs yet in the hope of relaxing and not getting totally stressed about it all. I’ve logged all my periods in the Premom app. I know predicted ovulation dates may be wildly inaccurate but just for context, we DTD on CD7 and CD10, and the app predicted I’d ovulate on CD11. I assumed that would be wrong, that we’d not DTD enough or at the right time and that I was probably out for this cycle.

Today is CD25. I did a FRER earlier which was negative. I then immediately saw blood on wiping and thought great, couldn’t have started earlier so I wouldn’t waste my FRER? However it’s light brown and doesn’t look like period blood. I thought it was too late for implantation but I’ve googled and now I’m wondering if it could be that? Is it too late? Can I read anything into the colour?

I mean, I assumed it was just my cycle going back to normal and starting on CD25. But it looks more brown than red. And maybe I ovulated later than the app said.

I’m probably just in denial tbh, I’m just so upset as I’ve had a crap day for various reasons and this hasn’t helped.

@screameggs Just offering solidarity as my AF arrived this morning. I’ve been in denial for the last few days thinking omg I’m late. My boobs hurt etc etc. It makes you go crazy!! Only good thing is that I’m off work for Easter holidays as I’m a school teacher. So at least I can wallow in my own pity party and not be surrounded by children. Parent’s evening was a killer before we broke up. At least 3 Mum’s saying oh it’s enough to put you having children looking after all of these……no, no it’s not! I want my own! Sending lots of positive vibes to you xxx

AF turned up today so I’m out. I never normally get spotting so really had my hopes up.
