Time of day for LH OPK testing

I'm using cheap opk sticks to test LH and logging on the premom app
I know it's best not to use first morning urine but I'm finding it difficult to test at a consistent time in the middle of the day as I'm often not at home, or if I am I'm dealing with my toddler. I'm just doing it when I can but that turns out to be vastly different times each day and I'm guessing that's not ideal.
How do others manage this?
Would I be better off using fmu for consistency, or continuing to test when I can even though it's at different times of day?

You don’t have to do it the middle of the day. The best time is between 10am and 8pm. I used to do it after work so around 6pm every day.

Not sure how helpful this is but I get my best readings in the morning with fmu. I've caught both of my peaks over the last two cycles that way. I can't test during the day really as I'm a teacher so its pretty fast paced with not many breaks in the day!

@Twoinapod I appreciate that- I guess by "middle of the day" I did mean 10am-8pm, throughout which time the craziness of work/parenting/life is ongoing. In my case I don't have a consistent daily routine so maybe I should just stick with fmu as that's the way to get consistency. Thanks @RegardingPersephone that's reassuring and actually makes me realise I did catch a previous ovulation (got pregnant but sadly miscarried) using fmu as I didn't know at that point you weren't supposed to use it. After my mc I'm doing more research trying to do absolutely everything right

I do a mix tbh!
Sometimes fmu and then I done in the afternoon.
Other times, around lunch time, tea time.
My times vary a lot but I've always managed to catch a peak

I'd just used my second wee of the day and it wasn't always the same time but tended to be within a couple hours range!
