Morning after pill or implantation bleeding

Hey!! So about 10 days ago I had unprotected sex with my partner! I have a one year old and we are not ready for another baby yet so I took the morning after pill. I worked out that I was around the time of ovulation so unsure if it would have worked or not!

Now I have light pink spotting - I’m worried about implantation bleeding or if it’s just the morning after pill! Has any one else experienced this?

When I took the morning after pill- from memory, my period was often delayed. Is the bleeding when you'd expect your period? I'd buy some FRER to check next week. Best of luck.

What is FRER?

no I’m periods due in about 11 days!

usually the time between ovulation and your period is around 14 days, give or take a few days, this stays the same pretty much every month, it’s the time between your period and ovulation which can vary in length. So if you still have 11 days until your period is due then it’s likely you would only ovulated in the last few days in which case

  1. the sperm wouldn’t have survived
  2. The map will have had plenty of time to work and
  3. It’s too early for implantation bleeding.

Frer is a first response early result which is the most sensitive test you can get

Implantation bleeding does happen around 7-10 days after, so it could be that, but there's no way of knowing really until you can take a test or your period starts.

FRER= First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test

Generally refers to a test which can detect <10mlU/ml of hCG in urine (pregnancy chemical), whereas the 'regular' pregnancy tests won't show until the level is higher, at 25mlU/ml. A frer will detect pregnancy sooner by a day or so other the more regular tests.
