My son is currently 10 months old and we are wanting to try and concieve again. He is formula fed during the day, however I still feed him in the morning, before bedtime and normally 3/4 times throughout the night.

I've never really had regular periods and think we were very lucky to get pregnant pretty much straight away with our first!

I had my first period since conceiving with my son last month (11th-16th feb) so started using a tracking app and tried to concieve and the days it suggested I was ovulating. Took a pregnancy test yesterday, not pregnant but still no period.

I just wanted some advice/ reassurance from anyone who been in a similar situation and managed to concieve? I've bought ovulation tests but don't even know where to start with them with my periods being to irregular.

Thanks 😊

Hey, congrats on the birth of your son and on BF. My son was feeding all night long at that age and it was beyond exhausting! And my periods still came back with a vengeance at 5 months pp. I’d get some cheapie ovulation sticks and just start peeing on them every day if you’ve not got other clues (like egg white cm). I get them from savers or Poundland. I have read that night feeds can prevent ovulation. There’s good info on Kelly’s mom website. Kelly’s mom good luck! Xxx

Probably not what you wanted to hear but I had no periods for 2 years until I cut down to just one feed at night - then got pregnant straight away!
There’s a good chance you might not be ovulating yet, or that you’ll not be ovulating when you think you are so I’d consider using ovulation sticks and maybe tracking your temperature if you’re really keen to conceive soon. Bear in mind you might just need to wait a bit longer, or cut down on feeds as it’s very early days.
