Did anyone have successful medical management of MMC without much bleeding?

Apologies if TMI:
I've just had misoprostol to manage a missed miscarriage (should be 10 weeks but stopped growing at 6 weeks). I took the first dose (4 tablets) the other day and was terrified because of all the horror stories online. However, while I had a some pain and a bit of bleeding (not as heavy as normal period) and passed 3-4 clots (about the size of marbles, not huge), there was nothing else. No "gushes" or heavy bleeding/large clots and not the levels of pain described in lots of other women's experiences. I was told to repeat the dose 24 hours later if no significant bleed or tissue loss, which I did, but that was the same as the first (a bit of light bleeding and a small clot but nothing else). I'm older, TTC and also have fibroids so am really desperate to avoid surgery but am scared it hasn't worked. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I did, no heavy bleeding or pain at all. The most pain I had was after the first tablet and it went after 20 minutes. I bled for about 5 days, very similar to a period and then on fifth day I had a couple of cramps and about 3 or 4 pieces of tissue, not massive maybe like a 50p size? After that just light bleeding for another week. I didn’t have any retained tissue because I was scanned at the hospital to check as they didn’t think it had worked!

@Fod80 how did it go? I started the Misoprostol tablets yesterday first dose at 9am and second at 1pm as had no bleeding, bleeding started at 4pm and was way lighter than a period pain was quite abit but manageable, only bled twice when I was on the toilet, I passed something in the toilet but didn’t get to see what it was, bleeding then turnt brown and now it’s only when I wipe(like the last day of a period) I’m so confused as to whether that’s it or more will come. Xxx

@S47 I had a follow up scan today and unfortunately nothing significant has passed! I’ve been given the option of a third misoprostol attempt, which I’ll probably do tomorrow, and surgery booked in early next week. I’ll be so glad once this is all over!

@Fod80 sorry to hear it hasn’t worked! I had all of my doses in hospital so now I think of it I probably had 4 or 5 lots of tablets as well as the one given to me at epu a day or 2 before! Hoepfully the next dose works xxx
