Period after hycosy....anyone?

Hi all,

So i had a hycosy on 23rd Feb, cycle day 6, which showed my tubes are clear and everything looks great. I did bleed for 4 days after....I temp and use opks, and from these i ovulated 4/5 days ago....cycle day 15/16. But now it seems i have my period on cycle day 20! This would put my cycle at 19 days! I usually have cycles between 30-34 days.

Has anyone else had a hycosy and it brought period forward??

Think i will ring my gp this afternoon!

Should i be worried?

Can't speak for those with regular cycles as I have pcos and extremely irregular/ not ovulating. I had a hycosy in nov 16th on cycle day 10 and to my surprise had My first back to back period in dec and i also ovulated so I definitely think the dye test does something to your cycles. One theory is that It has some kind of stimulating effect on your ovaries

@2022TTCBaby1 are you sure of when you ovulated? I had this 2 days before I ovulated and had no changes in my cycle. Generally speaking, any delays to your cycle is usually ovulation based so the procedure may have delayed ovulation which means you are later than expected. If you are concerned though, defo reach out to the professionals. Great news all was clear though 👏

@MK85 i also have pcos, and suspected endometriosis. I dont have polycystic ovaries though but have what they class as irrlegular cycles as i have had a few over 35 days in the last year. But they tend to be between 30-34 days.

I had my hycosy on cycle day 6, accoring to my FF app i ovulated day 16. But on my flo app i ovulatee day 15.

@bunnykins123 thank you! I wouldnt say my ovulation was delayed. If anything it would brought forawrd a couple of days as the past 3 months i ovulated later, between 19-21. Why is being a woman so confusing?? Haha our bodies like to play tricks on us.

I contacted GP as still light bleeding today at 5/6dpo , they say it could be period early (but temps are still high) or i have a delayed infection. I need to keep an eye on my temps etc over few days and call them back if bleeding does not stop.
