PCOS diagnosis - still bleed each month?

HI - I've recently had a PCOS diagnosis following an ultrasound for irregular bleeding between periods. This was my only symptom, I still bleed about every 30 days and I do not have any excess hair growth / acne etc. so this diagnosis was quite a shock!

I fell pregnant first try with my DS1. I'm planning on TTC again maybe early next year - how likely will this diagnosis affect this? Even though I bleed every month, does this still mean I'm ovulating? I also track my ovulation, and get the positive tests two days a month? My irregular bleeding started post pregnancy.

I'm so confused and a little anxious!

Honestly, PCOS can mean so many things to so many different women.
My only symptoms were no periods and being a little over weight. Obviously having no periods meant I wasn't ovulating so was a lot harder to fall pregnant but I was put on meds and fell pregnant pretty quickly with both DD's 😊

Did you have blood tests and ultrasound to confirm PCOS?

Just so you know, the dr's will do nothing about the diagnosis unless you've been actively trying for a baby for 12 months then they will give meds. Other than that, unless you have symptoms they'll just tell you to get on with your life.
The fact you already have a little one is a good sign that you'll fall pregnant naturally again. Goodluck 😊

Hey @GAW19 - thank you for replying. Yes I had bloods and internal ultrasound. I was told to leave it a few months then try the mini pill if the bleeding between periods hasn't settled.

Great that the medication worked for you!! Sounds like it's quite easily treatable?
