Hi All,

Has anyone used this and had any success with it? Only on cycle 3 of TTC 2nd child but I'm 36 and thought anything that could speed things up might be helpful. Anything I need to bear in mind with it?

I don’t have one- but having done some research it seemed a bit of an expensive gimmick. I buy the clearblue ovulation sticks and track everything on a free app, the fertility monitor doesn’t seem to do anything else.

Just buy some easy@home ovulation strips and use premom app. I found it really good and caught first cycle.

I bought it when I was trying to conceive and to be honest I wouldn't waste your money. I got bored of it as found it no different to using the clear blue ovulation sticks and a free app to input my information. I stopped using it in the end. Good luck with your TTC journey ☺️

I used it and conceived first cycle but appreciate that could just be coincidence. I liked it because it recommends testing once a day with FMU compared to regular OPKs that recommend later in the day which was tricky for me when working. I wasn't sure how reliable it was so also tracked with easy@home strips when I could. Both identified my peak at the same time so you could definitely track accurately with those.

One benefit of the monitor is that you'll get several "high" days before your peak (more than with digital OPKs if I remember correctly) which helps to focus your mind on DTD at the right time in the lead up to peak days whereas with internet cheapies, I found my peak would come and go quickly so wouldn't get the advance warning of the few extra high days so there was arguably less opportunity to conceive if I'd only used those.

I borrowed the monitor from a friend so didn't need to pay for it. She also conceived first cycle using it, as did another of our friends who used it. In each of their cases, they had been tracking with OPK strips unsuccessfully for months so both definitely thought it worthwhile. Again, could be coincidence but both felt it helped them.

TTC can be stressful and a bit all consuming so it's worth just figuring out what works for you. Personally it helped me feel in control of the process with clear unambiguous results with FMU but you'll see loads of people on here who prefer easy@home strips so personal preference.

The ovulation tests I use are the same as the ones for the monitor- so they give you the few days before ovulation too.

Thank you all. @Bananabreakfast123 I had read some very similar reviews on Amazon and just wanted to check if others had similar experiences.

I used the sticks for the first time last month I had a very strong line for 4 days was wondering whether the monitor would narrow it down to which one of those was the peak as they all looked the same to me. I must have ovulated a day or 2 after the 4th test by my cycle length

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 I think I got 3 or 4 "high" days then two peak days on the monitor (I think I ovulated on the second one) whereas I didn't see much movement at all with the paper strips until it was peak day. I ovulated earlier than expected that month too so I'd definitely have missed the days before if I'd not had the monitor. Not sure I'd have bought it had I not been able to borrow the monitor but there are so many positive reviews like you said. Just having the clear words on the screen made life a lot easier rather than trying to figure out what lines on the strip meant and I'll definitely use it next time round as well. If you're going to invest, you need to start using it on day 1 of your cycle so make sure you have it ahead of that or you need to wait until the next month.
