Hi everyone,

I've done a few threads about unfortunately bleeding in pregnancy. I went for my scan today and it's an incomplete MC so I'm going to have surgery on Monday. I'm extremely sad and feel nobody around me knows how I'm feeling. My partner seems to be fine and has been fine the past week whilst waiting for this second scan. I've been a wreck and I feel heartbroken.

Moving on from that, I would like to try and get pregnant ASAP again, has anyone had any positive stories of being able to fall pregnant so soon after a MC?

Thanks so much

I'm so sorry to hear this, I had a D&C in February 2021 as I had a MMC. I did fall pregnant again in the September but had a very early MC. HOWEVER, I fell pregnant in January 2022 and I'm currently my cuddling my 5 month old DS 💙 I'm also 42 so age wasn't on my side, but I thought I'd share my positive story. I hope your D&C goes ok and that you fall pregnant again v soon, but do make sure you give yourself time to heal both physically and mentally x

Bubblemachiene · 17/02/2023 12:00

No but I am in the same boat after just having a mc last week so I know how you feel.
Hopefully we can conceive on next cycle 🤞

mamnotmum · 17/02/2023 12:17

So sorry to hear. I had a MMC at 13 weeks. It was awful - went for my scan with plans of telling family my good news later that day and was told of the MMC. I had my D+C in the March.

I got pregnant straight away; My daughter was born the following January.

Pregnancy after miscarriage is scary, I'm not going to lie but, for me, completely worth it.

Good luck to you. X

ChloeN · 17/02/2023 12:19

Sorry for your loss lovely😥 I had a mmc and it took 3 cycles after to concieve again, not long now I look back but felt like a lifetime!

Whataretheodds · 17/02/2023 12:29

I conceived in the 2nd full cycle but didn't try in the first full cycle because i had covid and felt shite, and wasn't physically/mentally ready to try 2 weeks after ERPC. See how you go after MVA and allow yourself time to grieve this one before you go again.

Whataretheodds · 17/02/2023 12:29

Also, i wanted the opportunity to have a few rare steaks and some sushi!

maranella · 17/02/2023 12:32

This happened to me as well OP (it's very common). I decided to take the following month off trying, to give myself a month to process what had happened and to have a period, so I would know when to try the following month. MMC late May, got pregnant again in August and DS born following May, just before the anniversary of the MMC.

babymummy96 · 17/02/2023 14:26

Wow thank you everyone. I'm absolutely petrified to fall pregnant again to be honest. I won't be excited when I see the lines on the test, I think I'll just be so scared.

Hopefully next time it'll all be ok xx

Ah, poor you. It's a load of old rubbish.

I miscarried in September and was pregnant again in November. With hindsight, it probably wasn't the best idea and I should have taken some time to calm down but noone could have convinced me of that, and I'm sure noone will convince you either 😉

I stopped worrying after my 12 week scan when her little heart was thundering away so all hope isn't lost for a happy and calm pregnancy.

Suprima · 17/02/2023 14:39

I’m so sorry for your loss.

mentally earmark 6 weeks for your period to return. Don’t read success stories of people getting pregnant before their period arrives, it’s unlikely to be you and when you see red- it’s going to hurt even harder.

i recommend fertility acupuncture post management to remove adrenaline, encourage blood flow and regulate your cycle. It also helps with clearing any remaining tissue post management. It’s about £80 a session. The best money I have ever spent.

You can do the ultra strength folic acid (can get from a doctor), q10 for egg quality, look after yourself- but ultimately it will be your time when it’s your time. It might take two months. It might take a year. I know the yearning well but manage your expectations.

for me I MC in may
period back july
chem pregnancy august
successful pregnancy september

whateveryouwantmetosay · 17/02/2023 15:37

I'm sorry for your loss. I had 3 losses, so I completely feel your devastation and strong desire to try again.

A doctor once told me (and I don't know if this is true) to wait one cycle post op to try.

Hey sweet - I hope you are doing ok. i had mmc picked up in Jan with full bleed completing 15th Jan…. I’m only bloody pregnant again right now 🤣 fell straight away, ovulated 15 days after bleed and here we are. In a complete daze about it all and doesn’t feel real. Very little symptoms other than a blazing positive (it’s definately a new pregnancy as I tested negative 10 days after my bleed). It’s all a bit mad and scary and exciting and a whole load of other stuff thrown in. i’m seeing this as a bonus if it works cos I was not expecting it so soon ! Reallt hope Monday goes ok for you xxxx

This gives me hope! Yes the first thing I asked the EPU is will I be fertile after my operation and they said yes but would prefer if I had one period first. We'll see what happens I guess but I just want another little one so badly, I suffered with PND with my first so don't remember the first six months and I am desperate to have that chance again.

Thanks for your comment xx

I conceived straight away after a MMC June 2017..it was an ectopic which was so bloody unlucky and rare 🤦🏼‍♀️but then we waited a few months and had a successful pregnancy and a lovely daughter (who is now nearly 4).
I would say wait at least a couple of cycles to conceive and become more physically/mentally able.
I used to search for positive stories too and was convinced it wouldn't happen for me as I was late 30s. Miscarriage is crazily common, I know so many people who have had one but at the time it feels it is only you.

Wow congratulations I'm very happy for you. I guess we fall pregnant when it's 'our time' so I hope it's my time next 🤞🏼

I wish you a safe and healthy pregnancy xxx

@babymummy96 absolutely - I really hope you get your rainbow soon xxxxxx

Beachhutnut · 17/02/2023 22:04

Not after a miscarriage but I started trying immediately after an eptopic pregnancy with success. I wish you all the best op.

pottypotamus · 17/02/2023 22:35

So sorry to hear that OP. I had a MMC in 2013 and felt like no one around me really understood what I was going through. That was my first pregnancy.

I had an ERPC and 7 months later fell pregnancy again. I have 3 DC now. So it might feel like it'll never happen but it will x

DesteB · 17/02/2023 22:54

6 weeks.

I'm in a similar situation, started bleeding yesterday (pregnancy tests had gotten lighter for a few days so I knew it was inevitable).

I already have a 2 year old daughter.

Really want to try again straight away... but not sure how long to wait/ when to start tracking ovulation etc.

Hoppinggreen · 18/02/2023 20:38

I am sorry for your loss.
I had a mmc at 12 weeks and had a D&C.
I then got pg a week later completely by accident as I had no idea it was even possible. My period hadn’t returned and I was basically pg for a year!!
I have to be honest it was quite difficult psychologically but my “baby” has just turned 18 and is completely amazing
I had DS with no issues 4 years later
Best of luck x

CarbieBarbie · 18/02/2023 20:44

No success story here but I waited for a few months after my MC to start trying again and really regret it as I haven't fallen pregnant again since that was a year ago. So I definitely think go for it

Al82 · 18/02/2023 21:01

Hi, I had a missed miscarriage in Dec 17. By Feb 18 I found out I was expecting again. It was a big shock and a worrying pregnancy but I had a healthy baby in Oct 18.
I think any pregnancy after a loss is very hard.

Looking back I feel everything happened for a reason and although it was one of the garden periods of my life I couldn't imagine my life being any different now.

Good luck to you xx

Matildahoney · 18/02/2023 21:17

I miscarried in Sept at 12 weeks, was told to wait for my period before we tried again. I will haven't fallen again yet.

babymummy96 · 18/02/2023 22:32

@HM1990 aww I'm so sorry. My daughter is 2 as well, we're desperate for another and were so happy to fall pregnant again so quickly all for it to end so quickly 😔

I've ordered ovulation tests so I know, hopefully they work xx
