Ovulation tests/ LH not rising and now even more to worry about

Hi ladies! I'm hoping someone can help or give me advice. I'm really getting very upset and stressed.
I'm tracking my ovulation with easy at home tests. My cycle is 28 days with period being normally 4-5 days. However this month and last was 9 days! I don't understand why! The premom app is saying that it thinks my fertile window is Saturday (CD12) for 3 days with ovulation on Tuesday (CD15). However doing my ovulation tests today, it's not been going up at all, it's still 0.08 or 0.09!! Surely it should be going up??

Theb to add to all this, I had bloods checked with doctor, just because of worrying about chlorestrl and needed to check for piece of mind and all bloods come back as fine (normal chlorestrl is 5 and I'm 3.5, so they aren't concerned). However the tests did show low iron...
I've added this to my list of supplements that I'm now taking and doctor was happy with that.. but she said she wants to book a smear to check there is no problems as I had abnormal cells about 4 years ago and since discharged.

Should I be concerned?? I'm now worrying about my LH level not rising and assuming it should be far higher if coming into peak? And then the fact she wants me to do a smear because of low iron!

Sorry for the long post, needed some advice! I don't get what's going on and really really upset and worried now 😕 xxxxx

@Floralsandsmiles I have pcos so when the strips weren't showing anything I was worried I just wasn't ovulating. I drove myself batty trying to track so I gave up after 4 months. I did a test a couple of months later out of curiosity and it showed up with a dark red line instantly, I knew that wasn't right because I was due my period. I googled it and did a pregnancy test and it was 2-3 weeks pregnant.
I think my point is that even with apps and test strips it can still be difficult to know when you're ovulating so try not to set your heart on the results to much. It can still happen xx

I wouldn’t worry about opk not showing a rise yet. Mine didn’t start going up until the day before my peak and that was only slightly. I had 2 highs and my peak all in the same day, and I ovulated the next day, that was my first cycle using them and got my BFP.

Also the best time to take them is between 10am and 8pm. Dont use fmu and try to take them around the same time each day. I did extras on the day mine rose as I got so excited something was finally happening. 😂

Thank you @Twoinapod that's really helpful! I will do more testing and see how I get on. I couldn't believe yours rose so much in one day through various times! Was great to see the example, thank you! Xxx

I had the exact same with those strips, was very panicked! Switched to the CB and got a BFP within 2 cycles. Everything on the CB digitals lined up with the CM I was seeing

If you're doctors tests were fine I wouldn't worry yet

Thank you, I appreciate your reply xx

Hiya I haven’t read all the replies but just wanted to say that my LH rises rapidly and I go from negative to positive within 6 hours sometimes!
This cycle I had a static smiley AM, flashing smiley PM and a static smiley 4 hours later.
Prior to the flashing smiley my LH was 0.9 on the strips and I was worrying it wasn’t rising yet I had loads of signs of upcoming ovulation (EWCM, sore nipples, emotional)
So you may be like me and just have a rapid rise, try not to worry too much and just keep testing xx

O goodness @MrsSB2023 that's crazy that all that was in a 6 hour period! Thank you for telling me, that helps so much! Xxx

Thank you for this @birdywillow, I will need to remember this when I'm loosing my mind (the next time) lol xxx

Yeah I missed mine this month as it normally peaks between 3-5pm and I forgot to test. I'd had a static smiley on the CB advanced the day before.

O no @OneHundredOtters!! However you only knew it was the peak coming because you saw it increase right? So I just need to be aware the min it keeps rising? Its consistently about 0.09 - 0.11 xx

Yeah but mine only goes up the day before usually. You can see the morning of the CD14 was still really low (although I had static smiley on clear blue test) then up by the afternoon to about 0.4, then peaks in the afternoon CD 15 and back to low again by the next day. Really easy to miss.

So little update! I did a strip this morning 10am and it's only risen from 0.08 to 0.12 but I did a CB at the same time (so not FMU) and it came back as a flashing smiley! Yesterday it was a low circle. Then when I put that reading (once ejected) into my premon app, it was 0.49! Yay! So there must be something wrong with the strips! Lol xxxx

Another this after with a strip and CB. CB was a flashing smiley and strip was 0.11. There must be something wrong with the strips no? Xxx

I have heard that the CB digital are more sensitive and pick up the LH surge at the very beginning but not sure how true it is, maybe it’s that or you have dodgy strips. I gave up with the strips in the end and just used the CB
Also, I don’t think CB is compatible with the pre mom app so may not be an accurate reading you’re getting

Aww OK, thank you @MrsSB2023! It was just weird that the CB test I did at 10am (not FMU) and the CB at 3pm was both flashing happy and then the easy@home tests were so low. So I think they are definitely dud ones...
The CB was definitely working as the last 2 days before today it was the empty circle.so its definitely progressing. Its all so confusing! Lol xxx

I know it’s a bloody minefield 😂
I would stick with the CB, least you can see it changing so you know something is happening xx

Do you guys have any updates? ☺️

I came off the pill in July when we decided to TTC (I had no idea of how it can take months for your body to reset). I am testing using ovulation tests for the first time this month properly but my cycle is still long and irregular. I have been testing since day 10 and currently on day 23 and only had readings below 0.2 (according to Premom). I will continue to do ovulation tests and hoping for a positive next week. I am praying that I am ovulating 🤞🏽 would love any words of reassurance!! This is all very new to me

i didn't add the first days as seemed pretty pointless but I've literally been having readings of zero the last couple of days 😢
