Could I be pregnant on copper coil?

Hi

My last period was around 13th Jan, so I’m due my period any day, the reason I’m posting is because on 2nd feb, I had a tiny bleed just when I wiped and then some brown mucus but then nothing more, I also had some cramping so I just assumed I was coming on my period at that time, but I haven’t had anything else and I haven’t had my period yet. I do feel tired, but I have 2 young children so that can be expected, and I don’t really have any other symptoms, no sore boobs or sickness etc.

Would this suggest pregnancy?

I will grab a test tomorrow. But I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience and if it seems that I’m just being a little over paranoid?

You could be although it’s unlikely, nothing’s 100% but the copper IUD is pretty close.

How long ago was it fitted, and can you feel your strings? If so, do they feel longer or shorter than the last time you checked them? I’d be more inclined to think your coil might have moved/slipped out of place before I thought about pregnancy.

@WetBandits It was fitted 6 weeks after my baby was born, he’s now 17 months old. And The strings still feel normal

Some women get a bit of spotting with an IUD even though it’s not hormonal, have you been exercising or anything recently? Some of my ladies who’ve noticed spotting with their IUD realised it was after a heavy gym session or very enthusiastic sex that they’ve bled off-schedule.

@WetBandits Thanks, yes I do go to the gym, nothing major or exhaustive at the moment though, but I do walk a lot. No enthusiastic sex unfortunately 😂 just the standard kind

Guess I’ll have to find out tomorow! But curious to know how unlikely it is or if anyone has experienced it?

My friends daughter became pregnant on the coil

I got pregnant on the copper coil but it had started to expel (I didn't realise) and the strings were pretty much hanging out of me by the time I realised. I had a miscarriage. I always check my strings now.

I have two adult friends who were copper coil babies. One allegedly came out gripping onto it 😂

Yes it did , all the scans were fine and they used to joke she would be born with the coil stuck on her head 😂
