Massage to clear blocked tube - anyone heard of/tried it????

I have just had an HSG and the dye indicated that there was a blockage on one side.
I read a while ago, that there is a type of massage that can, supposedly, clear tubal blockages. I just wondered, has anyone tried this?
Thank you!

Some people think reflexology can help with this, and in any event, reflexology is lovely and can help balance out fertility hormones generally. However, if your tube is really blocked, reflexology is not going to help.

Thanks for the input! I have been looking on the internet and have come across the Maya massage, it seems to be a realignment of the uterus - interesting!
I found the wurn technique, which is one of the tube unblocking techniques I had heard of, but it only seems to be available in the US and New Zealand.
Acupuncture has just been recommended to accompany IVF, so I'm looking into that. I have been doing a bit of accupressure on myself though, which involves pressing about an inch below your naval and squeezing the back of the ankle, on the tendon. I'll look into reflexology as well.

rowingboat thats interesting to me as i have just had a lap and dye and found one tube to be blocked, i go back for my follow up on 10 march, have u been for urs yet? If so what did they say. From what i have read it all depends where the blockage is, but there are quite alot of things they can do apparently, even cut out any damaged areas and reattach, which is amazing considering how tiny it is. The accupressure sounds interesting, might look into accupuncture too.

Viksam, you sound a lot more organised than me. My doc is pushing us to try IVF, but if we decide against it he will pursue a surgical unblocking. Must say I prefer not the surgical route, so want to consider other options. I will keep you posted though.

rowingboatSorry to ask the details and i hope you dont mind. What did the surgical route entail? Would it be a laparoscopy type proceedure? Have you found anything else out about massage? I just can't wait for my appointment now, i am really trying to put it out of my mind. When will you decide what treatment you will go for? I always said if it came to IVF id give up my quest for kids but now Im at this stage im not so sure what Id do.

Hi Vikam, I don't mind at all. Unfortunately, I can't really help much because we haven't been in to discuss the surgical options - the doc did mention the laparoscope I think. I still have to get another 21 day check - must phone the gp to organise that (mental note). I then have to go back for another scan, at which point we have to decide what we are going to do.
I'm really not happy about IVF, because it is so expensive, not sure if I want to get into even more debt for this.

I sooooooooooo know where ur coming from, I havent looked into cost yet, thought that might be tempting fate a bit. Dont we get anything on the national health? I also think if it comes down to adoption and you have spent all ur money on IVF you will probably get turned down because your in debt, we cant really win can we? Im trying not to think that far untill i have had my appointment and hopefully i will have some more concrete things to think about. Do u have a long history rowing? Its really strange how everyones seems to have things in a different order, i went for a scan just before my L&D and had several blood tests to determine wether i am ovulating. The bloods also turned up my underactive thyroid, so now i am on thyroxin and having to have more blood tests to check my levels. If you havent looked into that its well worth it.
