Aged 26. Low AMH but have PCOS

Does anyone know what this actually means for me going forward? I had a chat with my fertility clinic but they didn’t indicate what situation i’m in with regards to chances of conceiving - either naturally or with IVF.

My scan and symptoms confirm PCOS however the doctor was surprised to see my AMH number at 16.6 (usually it’s higher with PCOS?).

How can I have PCOS and average/low AMH?

Hello! I know this is a bit odd but I’ve just experience similar - told I have polycyclic ovaries (over 20 follicles on each) but also told I have a low AMH of 6! Hope you got some answers :)

Hi @Carlotta27 - nice to hear someone else is in the same boat. The clinic i was with didn’t offer much more of an explanation but explained that I’d likely need IVF and it might be a bit more complex than originally thought.

Have you spoken with a GP and/or fertility clinic since you found out?

I wondered if maybe they had done the test wrong 😄

Nice to meet you and find someone else struggling with weird results. Annoying that your clinic didn't give a clear explanation as that's of course what we need a Dr to do!

I've had a really weird set of results. My AMH was retested this cycle and came back at 115 - a lot higher than the 6.2. It got me really worried (google is a scary place) as such a high score is suggestive of a PCOS or a tumour. My other ratios didn't suggest PCOS (e.g. LH) so i'm in a really worried and confused state and chasing Drs to speak to. I will let you know if i learn anything x
