Faint BFP yesterday morning, BFN this morning

Hey! Exactly that! I had a faint BFP yesterday morning (attached) and today it was a complete BFN. I’m 9DPO today… if it was a real line it would’ve atleast shown again this morning right?

is this picture the morning test?
the test line looks a little too far out the normal range. not sure if that means this test is a dud.

Justbelieve25 · 18/01/2023 08:58

Did the line show up within the time limit? 9 dpo is early still, you can retest in a couple days

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 09:16

Yes the line came up within the time frame 😫 I thought FRER were reliable x

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 09:17

And yes @Mrsphilmiller it is the morning test. So that test I put directly into the stream of my urine, todays test I dipped from a cup. X

usedtolovenaps · 18/01/2023 09:23

FRER are the least reliable tests. I don't know why so many people on MN seem to love them.

mum11970 · 18/01/2023 09:26

I can’t see anything at all on that test, is it today’s test or yesterday’s?

lucya66 · 18/01/2023 09:27

I see something but fingers crossed it gets darker tomorrow. Maybe todays test was a dud?

Mrsphilmiller · 18/01/2023 09:41

i see a line on todays yeah but as i mentioned before, it’s a little off centre. wish you all the best 😊

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 09:49

I’ve had evap lines before on clear blue but I’ve never ever had a line on an FRER before! I’ll have to wait and test again in a few days I think :(. Thank you! X

Twoinapod · 18/01/2023 11:35

@usedtolovenaps blue dye tests are the least reliable. FRER are one of the most recommended because they are reliable.

@Cruzxo it’s still very early, I’d give it another few days and retest. It does look like it’s a bit too far over to be a positive though

fairgame84 · 18/01/2023 11:37

I agree with pp, the line is too far over so it's probably a dud.

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 11:38

Yeah I didn’t even realise it was so far over. I was just shocked as it’s the first line I’ve ever had😔 I stupidly did another one not long ago after 4 hour hold..BFN x

OP posts:
sarahc336 · 18/01/2023 11:49

That line looks too far to the left to me too 😬

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 12:12

Might be a silly question! But just curious as to how it makes it a dud test if the line is over to the left? I’m literally so confused I’ve never had a line on one of those before and I’ve used absolutely loads of them x

OP posts:
Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 12:28

I’ve been down a rabbit hole and have looked at so many that turned into BFP and many have the same distance apart between the lines x

OP posts:
Krakenes · 18/01/2023 12:32

Sorry I agree with the above, it doesn’t look like a positive test to me. Especially as you’ve done another one and is showing negative.

WileECoyoteMeepMeep · 18/01/2023 12:34

FRER are renowned for indents. There are loads of pictures online.

Re test in a couple of days. Wishing you lots of luck.

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 15:12

Ahhh thank you so much that’s kind of you x

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 18/01/2023 16:03

Mine is far over to the left so don’t think that’s an issue. I’m definitely pregnant.

It could be you’re a bit too early to consistently test positive (many things can affect how dark a line is) or it could have been a chemical. Or it’s an evap but I thought most frer evaps are white

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 16:24

@allgoodthings84 I’m so glad you have posted your test thank you! I also thought evaps were white too. The indents in FRER are never lines in my previous experiences they just stay clear. This line stayed! I guess time will tell! Doing the test earlier on didn’t help because I’d drank tea etc so this early I didn’t know what I expected 😂 thank you xx

Hey there!

Wishing you all the best on your conception journey. As pp have said, 9dpo is rather early to test. I think tests are not that reliable until 14dpo when implantation will be more established, right? Or that makes logical sense to me anyway :) I think you should wait until then and retest.

Fingers crossed for you. I can understand your excitement and eagerness to test. I’m 5dpo and keep dreaming I’m pregnant already xx

allgoodthings84 · 18/01/2023 16:31

@Cruzxo I would wait at least 2 days (longer if you can hold out) and test again as HCG doubles every 48 hours or so. Good luck 😊. I’ve seen lots of 9dpo bfp this faint on here. I didn’t do mine until 14dpo so no idea when I would have first got a faint line.

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 16:34

Hi @Feliciacat ☺️ ahh thank you! It’s a nightmare isn’t it the 2WW is the longest! Wishing you all the best too! I will hold out now to test! Xx

@allgoodthings84 im going to hold out! Well I’ll try 😂 I wish I had your will power haha. All the best for your pregnancy and congratulations😘❤️

@Cruzxo thank you 😊 I’m around 9 weeks now. I had 2 early miscarriages/CPs just before this so I was scared to test even though I knew I was pregnant as my AF always comes 13dpo and I spot 3-4 days first and I didn’t this time. Made it easier to resist when I was scared of another chemical.

Cruzxo · 18/01/2023 16:41

@allgoodthings84 im so sorry to hear about your MCs and CMs. Amazing news you’re around 9 weeks though! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy 😘x
