Hi all,

Just some experience/advice needed please.

A bit of background, we tried to conceive for 8 years for our first, miraculously got pregnant Apr 21 and had our beautiful boy in Feb 22.

We decided to try again this month as how long it took last time and I am not getting any younger!!

My period was a day late so I tested and got a faint line. I am now at 4 DPO (not sure
exactly when I ovulated, just going by an app guess)

My worry is the lines are too faint and not getting darker quickly enough.

Everything I Google says CP 😔 or people don't come back wirh updates.

Sorry about the fluff in the photos! Also did a test on Friday PM digital

If you are not sure when you ovulated then I would discount the number of DPOs, i would be very very surprised if you got a positive at 4 days post ovulation - I don't think there's enough time for enough HCG to build up in your blood. The earliest I have ever got a positive line was 8 days post ovulation so I suspect you ovulated earlier than the app thinks you did.

There's definitely pink lines there and they look like they are getting darker to me. I would try with a first response early result as i think they are the most sensitive around.

I hope you get the outcome you want x

Sorry I meant urine not blood 🤦

LittleLottle · 08/01/2023 11:08

I'm assuming you mean 4dp period rather than 4dpo. However as you don't know when you ovulated then I wouldn't worry about strength of lines, just that they get stronger! Also the cheap tests aren't the best for showing dark lines, I bet fit a FRER or other brands you'd get really strong lines

Natztastic · 08/01/2023 11:27

Sorry to add I mean 4 days overdue for my period not 4 days PO, Oops x

As you don’t know when you ovulated don’t go by the darkness of the lines, they are progressing that’s what counts

I would do a frer then 48 hours later do the second one in the pack and see if it’s darker. You don’t need to do a frer but I know the darkness of lines on a frer make people feel better. The frers were the best for me when I was checking for my 2 early miscarriages/CPs as it was so obvious the line was getting lighter

Your lines look fine to me. I'm currently having a chemical loss and my lines got fainter and fainter , yours are still getting darker so I don't think there's any reason for concern just yet

NWnature · 09/01/2023 08:09

HI @MK85 really sorry to hear you are going through a chemical loss at the moment. Sending love and thank you for taking the time to respond.

@allgoodthings84 I have got a three pack of Clear Blue coming today but might pop round to the chemist for First Response if these don’t put my mind at ease. You’re right I don’t think they are getting fainter (they barely could tbh, I can only just see them). I am trying to just give it a bit more time and see how it goes. I don’t know when I ovulated (via testing or temperature tracking or anything) but my app suggested 19th December though which is why it seems weird they are so faint.

Sorry I thought this was a thread I had started!!! I’m so sorry @Natztastic how embarrassing. Congrats - those tests look good to me! Hopefully you can get a branded one over the next couple of days to put your mind at ease.
