Advise please ... Spotting .. period .. testing too early ??

Okay sorry for the long essay🙈
I took a test which was negative the day before my period was due(3 days ago) I'm now 2 days late and still no period. I tested again this evening ( 2hr hold ) and it showed negative again.( I know mornings are best but I got impatient )
I have been checking my cervical position etc regular and notice my cervix is still in a medium position but yest/today I've noticed some pinkish beige mucus on my finger when I checked, so I checked a couple times over the past 48 hours and sometimes there's discharge sometimes it's just my usual clear/whitish (sorry for the details) discharge.There's no blood or anything showing when I pee or wipe though. Could this be implantation bleeding? And perhaps I just tested too early for the test to show up as positive. I've noticed since yesterday my breasts are really sore and I've had a few twinges/cramps on and off the past few days too? Just after everyone's advise.
Looking at my calendar I am 2 days late for my period. I last had sex the 16th Dec and my predicted ovulation date was the 18th Dec..(new to this sorry) so I think I'm around 12 to 14 DPO .. but only experiencing possible implantation symptoms now ? Is this normal ?

It could be that you ovulated later than your predicted ovulation date which would make your period later too. Doesn’t mean you’re not pregnant it could go either way. If you was 14dpo then you would likely have a positive test if pregnant

I think that implantation would be earlier than 12-14dpo as it advises that implantation can happen from 6-12dpo but implantation that happens 11-12dpo is a lot more likely to end in a chemical as not enough time to implant properly.

as you’re not sure when you actually ovulated I would wait a few days and then test again or you could spend a fortune on tests

Yeah I'm a little confused I'm thinking if I had sex on the 16th .. and conceived 5 days after that brings me to the 21st .. that would make me 12 days after possible conception ... Looking online if I'm right implantation is around 29th or 30th ... Which is 3/4 days ago ... This is all so confusing I'm not sure if I'm just testing too early or if this is implantation. I have more tests at the ready if I still don't get my period which is usually like clockwork. I'm just new to all this so a bit confused 🙈🙈

I’m in almost the same situation! My app says I ovulated on 18th aswell and period will be 2 days late tomorrow. My tests have also been negative. Only difference is I had light bleeding 9dpo which I hope was implantation, but tests have been BFN so probably not. I’ve heard 12dpo for implantation can happen but 14dpo is less likely. When are you planning to test again?

I'm so impatient !! I want to test again in the morning but going to try my hardest and hold off a bit longer... Some online forums say best results are at least 21 days after unprotected sex so that takes me to around Thurs or Friday ... I'm just so confused and probably not helping things by sitting on Google for hours on end haha !!! Keep me posted on your situation too please and good luck !!! X

@BlippyMoose26 dont worry, I know exactly how you feel. So easy to get obsessive over it. I know that some people do tend to get very late positives though.. so I think the 21 day wait is the way to go. Going to see if AF turns up tomorrow but don’t know if I have the confidence to test again:( good luck and keep me updated too! X

I ovulated on the 19th and had my first positive test 3 days ago now. But I started with cramps on the 25th. Would give it a few days incase you ovulated late or a late implantation . Fingers crossed 🤞🏽 xxx

Given when you last had sex I think it’s very likely to show as positive by now if you are pregnant.

I also had sex around the 27th or 28th but it wasn't within my fertile stage so I'm not counting it .. ?

so thought I'd leave a little update...

got up this morning expecting AF to come from yesterday's spotting but still nothing. I'm now 3 days late .. I checked my cervix this morning and it still seems to be in a medium position and again there was pinkish discharge on my finger when I removed it but nothing when I pee or wipe.
i kept my tests from the day before my AF was due and the one from last night and just happened to glance again today ( yes I know tests are invalid after a few minutes) but in the light I noticed a very faint line on the one from before AF .. not soo obvious on one from last night but now I'm not sure if they were there orginally or have come up out of time or my eyes are just wanting that bfp so much they're tricking me... Maybe last night's wasnt so strong as I tested at night 🙈🙈

Is it my eyes or does anyone else see that same thing

@BlippyMoose26 i could see it on the one before AF straight away but had to look closer at the top one. I can see something and they both look pink, but hard to rely on as they could be evaps. Do one after a long hold today or first thing my tomorrow! Fingers crossed x

The previous tests are invalid whatever they show as it's been two days - they will be evap lines.
I would say take another test with fmu tomorrow morning, preferably a frer, and if it shows negative I would say you aren't pregnant. Try not to be disappointed, I know it's difficult ❤️

The suspence is killing lol !! Ill try another today and I've ordered some diff tests too incase it's the tests. Uffff !!! It's the spotting that's confusing me .. it's deff not my normal AF which is what makes me think more implantation ... X

I live in Spain so can't get hold of the FRER tests easily ... Only clear blue which I've used before and know aren't as sensitive as other tests. I know it's after the valid time I just don't know how if they were there but it was bad light or they weren't 🙈

There’s definitely something there but no way to tell if it’s an evap or not as the pictures weren’t taken within the time. If you need to play around with the filters then it’s not positive enough to be sure it’s not an evap. As you’re now past your AF due date (how many dpo are you?) then a new test after a good hold should have a clear positive if you are pregnant even if it’s faint it should still be dark enough to see without questioning it.

Clear blue aren’t as sensitive but if you’re past AF due date (or at least 14dpo) then they should show a line. They are designed to take after AF due whereas frer are designed for before AF due

I think I'm between 12 or 14 DPO as I think I ovulated later. My camera isn't taking clear photos but there is a faint line in both just the camera not showing it so well 😕😕

How sensitive are the tests you are using?

If your period normally comes like clockwork and you are late now, then unfortunately you are probably not pregnant and something else is causing the delay. If you ovulated late, your period would be late too. But bare in mind it's quite unlikely to get pregnant if you had sex 5 days before ovulation (not impossible but your chances are much lower than 1-2 days before). For the best chances, do it every other day until you're sure you've ovulated.

@BlippyMoose26 I can see the lines just about above but these aren’t fresh tests with lines within the time? At 12dpo lines may be squinters on these cheapie tests but not at 14dpo I don’t think. With both of my CPs I had squinters at 12dpo but with this pregnancy (I’m 6+5 now) I had an obvious line on a cheapie at 12dpo. Wasn’t dark but it was a very obvious line.

Are you able to take a test after a hold today and see if you see a line within the time? Either that or wait 2 days when you know you’re definitely at least 14dpo and test then as should definitely show a clear line then if pregnant.

I'm just worried that because of the spotting it's too early to test to get a full blown bfp .. I've got another test ready for tomorrow morning so will see then. The spotting seems to have subsided today mind so really not sure what's going on 😂😂

If you’re 12-14dpo I think it’s too late for implantation but spotting before AF is normal and spotting in really early pregnancy can be normal so the only way to know for sure is to take a test when you know you’re definitely at least 14dpo as then it would show a clear line on a test

Spotting at this stage with mega faint lines could also be a chemical. I’ve had 2 chemicals at just before 5 weeks so know how that feels so I’m hoping it’s not that for you

It could be a chemical pregnancy - where implantation has failed. I can see the line but it’s hard to know whether it’s a valid positive or not.

Fingers crossed I'm going to wait a few days and try again with a different test .. I'm just hoping late ovulation has led to late implantation but we will see... If not . There's always next month 😉
