No period but no BFP

Hi all ,posting here in the hope someone might be able to offer any advice or share any similar experiences (posted in woman’s health sector on here but got no responses)

my period is 11 days late , I have always been very regular with my periods , my cycle is normally 28 days long and it normally lasts three to four days long.

my last period was 22nd of November and was just normal in flow and how long it lasted and up until November I have always had a period every month since Ive started having periods

i should of had a period in December on the 20th but it never came I’m now 11 days late which has never happened before unless I’ve been pregnant

for context I have three children I am 26 , 27 next year

I’ve only had sex once this month with my partner at the start of December , I’ve done some pregnancy tests but they were negative

I’ve also been to my gp a few days ago the doctor was nice but not very helpful she tested for pregnancy with a urine test but it was negative she then said wait a few months and if I still don’t start my period to come back

whats going on? I’ve never experienced anything like this and am unsure why my period hasn’t come , help

any advice would be welcome , tia x

Hi, the same happened with me this month. I am usually like clock work with my period, never late and it was 16 days late. I also took tests as was sure I was pregnant as was bloated, had tender boobs and even felt sick at times! Very strange.Doc said it happens at times and there was nothing to worry about.

You can have an off cycle

I had one cycle that was 35 days long and another in which I bled for the entire month. Two off cycles in 8 months of ttcing. I didnt know off cycles were a thing but it seems like they are. Good luck!

The other possibility is that you're having a chemical pregnancy and will start bleeding in a day or two.

I’m also going through this at the moment. My last period was the 18th Nov, although my periods are irregular but my app says 13 days late!🤷🏼‍♀️ have been having symptoms like bloating, headaches, nausea and have a really strange sense of smell. I just don’t feel myself but unsure what’s going on! Have done tests and some look positive and others are negative😩 just going to wait and see what happens but it’s worse not knowing.

Surely this would only be the case if she had a positive test?

She may have got past the point where tests would be positive.
Many POAS women have a positive test at 8 dpo, then by 16 dpo it's negative and eventually they start bleeding.

I had this last year. I was 9 days late but usually my cycle is very regular. Never had a late cye by more than 2-3 days. It was just an off cycle. Sometimes your body tricks you like this. Went to see a doctor and they said if your period is late and youve taken multiple tests a week after its due and it's still negative, you're probably not pregnant.

By the way I ended up starting my period a few day later!

Hi all ,still no period , I’m now about two weeks late not even a drop of blood or a bleed or a sign of my cycle starting ,
I’ve had to go to hospital to have my bloods taken as the nurse says sometimes if a woman is pregnant it may not show in your urine but will show in my blood if I am

still in hospital awaiting the blood test results will keep you all posted

if I’m being a hundred percent honest I’m leaning towards I’m more likely pregnant as no bleed or no implantation bleeding is what I’ve experienced in my other pregnancies and I understand a woman can have a off cycle for the first time and many more times through her lifetime but knowing my body I’m just sensing I need medical attention on this right now

I was also speaking with my friend about the likelihood that I could have pcos but she said if I had pcos I would likely of had some bleed at some point here or there before my cycle was due or after even if it’s not my full blown cycle

but for me my periods were always regularly and now they’ve just stopped , I’m also not in pain and haven’t been at all , I also wasn’t in pain when my period was meant to be due

so my bloods taken at the hospital were negative for pregnancy, the doctor advised to book an appointment to get my bloods checked for my hormone levels as they didn’t test my hormones at the hospital, just if I was pregnant and if my kidneys , liver and pancreas etc were in the normal range in my blood which they were

I’ve been to the gp today and had my bloods taken again ,to check my hormones and they will let me know the results in a few days

on the day I booked my gp appointment my period started a bit heavier than usual this time more clots but I’m very relieved and happy for it finally to come

I guess it turns out I was just having an off cycle after all 😅 which I’m very relieved about as I prefer to either have my period or be pregnant but being in limbo was agony and causing me to feel abit stressed if I’m being honest 😣

and agreed it is worse not knowing , definitely second that ,having experienced it myself now , hope you get your answer and hope it’s the one you want 🤞
