Chemical pregnancy, what happens next?

Hello lovely posters,

I’m looking for a bit of advice around a chemical pregnancy. I tested positive (very faint) on Christmas Day and assumed it would get darker the following day. Unfortunately, I started some light bleeding and then no line was visible at all the following.
Im just not sure what to expect next, should my period arrive as planned at the end of the week (according to my app anyway) or are things all out of sync now?

Thank you xx

Hi @xxcxdonxx sorry about your chemical pregnancy :(
I had one of these couple of years ago. Faint positive test on the day my period was due but constant brown spotting and the line faded to nothing over the course of the next few days. Period was there in full a week late and was heavier than usual. X

Didn't affect my cycles and they were back to normal instantly x

Sorry about your loss :( I had a chemical last cycle and my period was 2 days late. Ive heard it can be a week or so late though. Count the first day of bleeding as your first day of period. My cycle returned back to normal straight away and we TTC straight away and now had BFP a few days ago. Hoping not another CP as lines are much darker this time and so far progressing fingers crossed.

I had a chemical last cycle. Trying again straight away. Things should go back to normal. I noticed I had extra days of ewcm. X

So sorry you’re going through this right now. I had a chemical in august, I tested + a couple of days early then on period due date I tested -. Period started the next day and was heavier than normal. Wasn’t sure if cycle was normal but I must have ovulated earlier than normal as tested + again in September but about a week before my period was due and I’m now nearly 19 weeks pregnant.

I’m sorry you’re having a chemical 😞

I had one in October and one in November. Both times I had positives on 14dpo which went really faint (pretty much negative) when retesting 16dpo then started spotting both times on 18dpo quickly changing to a full bleed. They were no more painful or longer than my normal periods but was much heavier on day 2/3 than usual. I’m now 24dpo and 5.5 weeks pregnant. I’m hoping this time it will be ok but 3rd pregnancy in 3 months it does scare me.

Thank you for all of your responses. It’s my first experience of this so they are much appreciated and lovely to hear of all of your pregnancies following your cps, congratulations!
I’ve started bleeding again this evening so not sure if that is my period starting or not, will see what the next few days brings! xx

So sorry OP 😪 when I had mine my period was only a couple of days late and cycles back to normal (for me, anyway) straight away ❤️ look after yourself over the next few days xx

Hello, hope it's okay I post here.

I'm going through a similar situation, tested positive Christmas Eve 10dpo. Started bleeding today heavily with very strong lower abdominal cramps. Home pregnancy test also now very faint positive, last week was strong positive and clear blue positive 3 days ago.

Will also be trying again.
Sending lots of love and hugs.
