Clue saying I am ovulating really late in my cycle

It's saying I will have ovulation on 3rd January which is day 23 of my cycle (period started 12/12 so that is what I am using as day 1)
It then predicts my period will begin on 12th January which would be day 32. Even allowing for a longer cycle, NHS says ovulation would be 12 - 16 days before period starts, IE day 20 at the latest. Previous cycles have varied in length a bit but just wondering why it's saying I will ovulate so late and if anyone's had similar???

Previous cycle I had positive ovulation strip on 1st Dec which was day 15 of my cycle; for 4 days before this I'd recorded ovulation twinges and sore boobs. I usually have this for a few days around ovulation then it goes away and comes back a few days before my period.

Today is day and there is a faint line on the ovulation strip.

Desperate to conceive, please be gentle. I had a miscarriage earlier this year and am still wobbly.

Many thanks.

X

How long have you been using the app to predict your cycle? If you have only just started using it then it doesn't have much data to try and help predict when fertile window might be. I'm on my first cycle after MC and my app thinks I'm going to be ovulating much later than I will because the last cycle was 50 days after my D&C my cycle length averages about 31 days so I know I'm likely to ovulate much earlier than it thinks. I would carry on with the opks and not worry too much about what the app says. They can't tell you what is happening with your body you just need to look for the signs like you're already doing good luck x

I found the opk strips the most useful because they tell you exactly what’s happening and combined with checking cervical mucus etc it was all pretty accurate for me. I ovulate day 18/19 in a 28 day cycle and have been pregnant four times so it’s not a huge disadvantage or anything although if you’re not aware of the late ovulation it can of course lead to dtd at the wrong time.

Thanks so much for the replies. I only started doing the strips last cycle but have been recording on the app for literally about 5 years, including discharge type, but not ovulation pain except for last 2 months as I only just found out you could do this! It gets the day of my period right 99% of the time as cycle lengths are quite regular. I am just a bit 😧 as for example today I had egg-white discharge and another faint (but less faint than yesterday) line on the strip, but it is saying I won't ovulate for a week. You can't record the faint lines only a positive / negative, which is really annoying..

@mummatara I am so sorry you had a miscarriage, I have been there myself recently although mine was a chemical preg. and it is so fucking hard 💐💐💐 Sending you baby dust xxx

@UltimateBlender ahhhh ok do you temp too or just record the other bits? Some people just get a very very quick LH rise so it will literally look negative and in the space of a few hours it's blazing peak. I use the premom app for my strip opks you don't have to put any other info into it it's quite handy for deciphering the strips rather than just a positive or negative. The discharge would make me think it's soon rather than a week away. Thank you for your dust 💕 any loss truly sucks but we will get our little rainbows xx
