what is ideal timing to have sex to increase chances of getting pregnant?

Am awfully confused by conflicting advice - have read that having sex as often as possible in the three days prior to ovulation (or when you have ewcm) is the way to increase your chances and elsewhere that this actually decreases your chances and that every three days or so throughout your cycle is the best way.

The latter certainly seems more appealing and less of a gruelling schedule but I remain confused.

Does anyone have any answers..?

As with most things in life, there is always conflicting advice. I'd say every couple of days throughout your cycle, with a bit of extra effort when you have got EWCM - as this is the best environment for the sperm.

Of course you can only conceive if there are sperm able to attack the egg when you ovulate, but if you are not 100% when you ovulate - and who is lucky enough to be able to pinpoint it so accurately?? - then it makes sense to have plenty of sex.
