Chemical pregnancy symptoms vs actual pregnancy symptoms

Hi everyone! Hoping someone can help answer this…

last month I had my first ever chemical pregnancy. Digital tests confirmed the pregnancy along with a variety of others! (I know, I went a bit over the top at one stage 🤣)… anyway, prior to my chemical (around 2 days leading up) I had lots of symptoms including:

  • cramps and pinching sensations
  • horrendous headaches
  • Overwhelming sensation of feeling sick
  • mood swings

I took my test 2 days before AF, and it was positive right up until the day AF was due which came soon after my negative test. I’d had a small level of spotting the day before my period.

As my body was effectively rejecting the embryo I guess, I was wondering how this may compare to a pregnancy without complications so I was wondering if anyone was/is pregnant that has experienced a chemical previous can kindly share their symptoms for both.

Id really appreciate it. Thanks so much ❤️✨

@Yolo23 thank you 😊. I don’t think symptoms will tell you either way just have to go with it

Every pregnancy is different. I’ve had 4 chemicals and all different. I’ve also had 2 MMCs both different, a spontaneous miscarriage at 6.5 weeks and a successful pregnancy - all different. Symptom’s definitely won’t tell you anything.

I had an early miscarriage/CP at 6wks in January and was bloated very soon after conception (I looked like a beach ball), boobs were heavy and sore, felt nauseous in the final week and was hideously tired to the point of barely being able to keep my eyes open.

I’m now 37wks pregnant, barely had any symptoms in the 1st trimester aside from slight cramping and regularly feeling like I had a bad hangover, but was definitely easier symptoms wise than the one I lost.

Thank you @allgoodthings84 its genuinely helpful to know that they’re different otherwise I’d be comparing (good or bad) to last month. I appreciate it, merry Christmas for the weekend xx

@Yolo23 Pregnancies all have different symptoms in my experience. I had a lot of miscarriages (12) and four successful pregnancies.

I do not think that there was one out of the sixteen which was like the others apart from the labour which was awful for the four that got there.

ttc2603 · 23/12/2022 14:44

Had a chemical and didn't have many symptoms apart from being really hungry and sore boobs. Got pregnant the month after the chemical (currently 34 weeks) at the start I had really bad nausea, couldn't eat, really bad morning sickness and really really sore boobs. Also I know it sounds weird but I just felt pregnant and knew I was before I even got a positive so that kinda helped with the symptom spotting as I already knew. Every pregnancy is different though so you can't really tell by symptoms, but sending you baby dust and sorry to hear about ur chemical pregnancy. Good luck!

@TheShellBeach 😂 the strike through comment…
