Is it too early for a test to show?

Hello

I just took a pregnancy test as I'm inpatient, it's 3 days before my period is due, on flo app it actually says take a test in 6 days but I took one today and it came up negative- would this show do you think if I was pregnant? Or could it be too early?

I know I am going to wait to see if period comes but just a question ☺️

Does the pregnancy test say how long before period is due to take it? As some are ok to take a bit early and may say 'early response' or something on the box x

@PeachyMama yeah I got them on Amazon, they are called one step ultra early and it says you can take them 6 days earlier than a normal test - so the likely hood of me being pregnant this month isn't big is it! ☹️ x

It would depend on when you implant if you do get pregnant. HCG can take a couple days after implantation to show on a test and implantation can happen up to 12dpo (usually 8-10dpo though)

@allgoodthings84 Ahh I hope I am. I read reviews on these tests I got and people did say they don't work ultra early! Feel like I used my ovulation days so well - so praying I am! Xxx

@edenisa I have one step sensitivity 10 (so meant to be early detection) but I’ve read that one step aren’t very sensitive at all. I got an obvious bfp on 12dpo on mine but I didn’t take one before so not sure if it would have shown earlier than that or not. It’s how many dpo you are that matters not when you’re due on as some people have short cycles and some have long cycles so 6 days early really means from 9dpo (they base it on an “average” and it would only show positive then if you implanted on 7/8dpo

@allgoodthings84 that's good to know! I really hope I am pregnant, like I said I used all the days well. But just have to wait I guess to see if I come on! Really sorry but I don't use this app loads, what does the dpo mean and bfp?

@edenisa dpo is days past ovulation so the day after ovulation is 1dpo and so on. Bfp is big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)

@allgoodthings84 Ahh I see thank you! All makes sense now! I am 8dpo atm then! Il test again on the 12dpo and see what it says then!
I've also read that the one step aren't sensitive, so could be too early. Hope it is! Time will tell I guess! It's annoying tho, as my partner has a job on atm where he's working away in the week and coming back at weekends so I'm really hoping I am so that our time isn't limited to trying! X

@edenisa I got my positive at 9dpo but 8dpo was negative so probably just a bit too early! Good luck for testing again ☺️

@ChloeN oh wow just one day apart you got a positive! Which tests did you do? I'm feeling so tired all the time, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Xx

I got a negative at 8dpo and 9dpo, positive at 10dpo

I got a negative last Sunday, 1st day I could test with an early response, but positive on Thursday. Definitely don’t count it out yet!

@Daisy4569 ok thank you, Ahh il be so disappointed if I'm not! I will wait until next week to test again, think I'm going to wait for day my period is due which is Tuesday!
