Just wondering if you have a 24/25 day cycle, when and how have you worked out when you ovulate?

Can you ovulate as early as day 9?

I have a 25 day cycle and ovulate day 14/15. You could easily ovulate on day 9, but if you genuinely have no idea you need to do OPK sticks as soon as your period ends. That'll show you when your LH surge is, and you'll then ovulate shortly afterwards. Everyone is different so the only way to know is to track.

heyyy! I’m 24-27 really all over the place and I ovulate CD14.. OPK testing showed this was the same nomatter how long my cycle was xx

bandbsmummy · 04/12/2022 06:59

Yes, definitely. I have what I assume is ovulation pain usually a day or two after my period has ended so day 8 ish? My app gives my fertile window as days 9-14.

Borgonzola · 04/12/2022 07:02

I ovulated and conceived on day 10. Used OPKs to be really sure!

lifehappens12 · 04/12/2022 07:46

I had a short cycle - about 24 days and 3 day periods and I am sure my most fertile days were about day 9/10.

I used clearblue tests and kept a calendar to record and it was pretty clockwork.

And a kind of strange of advantages was the trying window was quicker?

Hooverphobe · 04/12/2022 07:48

I was a 26 day cycle and ovulated days 6-8! Much earlier than I thought!

meetmeinthespring · 04/12/2022 10:16

I've used the Clearblue 2 day previously (how reliable are those 😀) and I got a positive on day 11

@lifehappens12 were you TTC? I seem to be getting very short cycles now, the last was 23 days (I used to be mostly 28 days apart)

lifehappens12 · 22/04/2024 21:43

@Sparks654 yes when I was tracking I was ttc and knowing I had a short cycle and ovulated early helped me conceive.

It was years ago now but I remember being at the early end of when people are expected to be fertile. Each time I was pregnant - when I had my dating scan the expected birth date was brought forward by 4/5 days which makes sense when they date as first based on a 28 day cycle:

Nessie2395 · 23/04/2024 10:04

Mine is 25-27 days and opks always say my peak days are between day 10-12. No BFP yet but DTD on day 14 as my app says would definitely be too late.

OnePinkDuck · 24/04/2024 20:40

I used to have exactly 28 day cycles then, no periods for a year after first baby as breast feeding, but since then I’ve been 24/25 days (even had the occasional 23). Use a tracking app and ovulation test sticks, really helpful. My fertile window starts about D7 and ovulate around d12.

IMBCRound2 · 25/04/2024 21:36

Silly question - but does that mean that you can take a pregnancy test earlier and still be certain of an accurate result ? Most of the apps seem to assume a 14dpo test date - but if I have a shorter cycle - surely a 12dpo test would give me equally accurate results?!

FrellTasticLady · 27/04/2024 12:13

My cycle seems to have settled on 23 days after stoping the pill late December. OPK testing suggests that I'm ovulating cd 9/10.
