With a different test? Did you get a solid smily with the first test and then use another test kit.

glamourousindierockandroll · 26/11/2022 15:11

Either way, you should have sex if possible and you want to concieve. It's not going to do any harm, but might do some good.

Thank you I guess I just wated to know if it's too late and if I conceive as the egg is dying off then is there more risk of miscarriage? Or faulty egg?

It's always worth trying but with a solid smiley on Thursday you'd be very unlikely to still be fertile. The solid smiley indicates ovulation within 48 hours, usually much before. So if it's over 48 hours since you actually took the test then your chances are very slim. I'd kick myself if I didn't try tgough

If you ovulated Friday then yes it's impossible for you to have got pregnant if you only had sex on Saturday. You have to have sex before ovulation in order to get pregnant. That being said, I've never had implantation pain or bleeding so that doesn't mean much to me. Did you track ovulation?

user000 · 01/12/2022 18:33

ah ok
i thought you could get pregnant after ovulation... within 24 -36 hours! i got that VERY wrong!
i think ovulation was probably friday
i got a solid smiley on the thursay... :/

No unfortunately not. The sperm has to be waiting in the fallopian tube before the egg is released from the ovary. As the egg moves down the fallopian tube it meets the sperm and hopefully fertilises it. If there's no sperm waiting there for the egg, then it just goes on it's merry way. It doesn't wait around just in case some sperm decides to show up. Sperm can survive for up to 5 days, but it's often much less, so in order to have the best chance of conceiving you should try to have sex 24-48 hours before you ovulate. That being said, I'm currently pregnant with #3 and we only had sex 5 days before I ovulated so it's def possible.

Did you have sex at all before you ovulated?

user000 · 01/12/2022 23:42

Ah shame!
I read the egg can live up to 24 hours
So was hoping there was a chance Blush
Probably not then...!!
We didn't have sex before I ovulated due to logistics!
