Hi everyone! Thought I’d start this thread to see what interest there was 🥰
I’m only today BFP (digital) but already chatted with so many others who are the same this month and feeling a bit anx about the next few weeks (with it being so early).
I don’t want to fill up the other threads so thought this may be helpful especially because while sometimes encouraging, I also know how heart breaking it can be when there are so many announcements.
So I’ll start us off and hope someone comments 🤣
I’m 30 - first baby (weird not to say TTC)
13 dpo
partner doesn’t know yet so already busy planning how to tell him over the weekend 🫣🥰 he’s currently out watching the footie!

Hiya! It’s really hard to say in my opinion however I know when I came off the pill a while back, my periods were all completely messed up - I didn’t have one for a while, then it was just a few days and at one point I seemed to be AF for 6-8 weeks! It was insane.

what I would say is if you have the other symptoms to match, there’s no harm in taking a test! You can order batches of little strip ones on Amazon which I find useful for queries like this. So I’d do that before investing in a digital - keep those for when you’re more certain in my opinion as they can be quite expensive :) best of luck x

I completely understand and I think that's why I'm like do I even bother testing. If it wasn't for all the other things I'm feeling I don't think I would just based on the 'period' but I suppose there is no harm in testing just to rule it out.

@Yolo23 hello.. how are you? Sorry I missed your message I haven’t been on here much over Christmas! ☺️

We have only been trying since October! We were on honeymoon then and weren’t careful.. but started ‘properly’ trying in November I’d say which is when I had the chemical. So early days for us. The last time I mentioned short/light periods to a nurse she said it was nothing to worry about 🤷🏻‍♀️ so hoping all is ok!

CD10 for me now and the baby dancing has started again 🤣 hoping to do it every other day until the end of next week! I’ve also bought some preseed to try and help 🙈🤣

hope the baby dancing has been going well 🤞✨ I’m still AF currently… grrr! But hoping for a positive start to 2023 and I certainly feel more prepared this time for everything to come - from being confident about ovulation, when to DTD, to testing… crazy how much it seems you have to learn about everything to stand a chance of a BFP 🤣

It’s been going better with being off work.. feels much more relaxed than having to get it over with counting how many hours of sleep I have left afterwards! 🤣 I’m just joking.. it’s not that bad.. but definitely more enjoyable being off work and not so tired ☺️

Ahhh hopefully AF clears up quickly for you! I’m hoping dtd every other day will have us covered for this month! I really don’t want to get into ovulation testing if I can help it cos I know I’ll get obsessed. But keep thinking am
I naive to think the app has it right.. which is why I’m hoping dtd a few days before and after the predicted fertile window might have us covered 🤞🏼

I think we are just going for a meal on NYE and a few quiet drinks. What about you? X

@Laul89 hahah totally relate to this! On holiday it seemed so much more natural and there were SOOO many hours in the day 😅😂 work is so inconvenient at this point in life 🤣

If I’m honest, the fact I used the digital ovulation test by clear blue or something just the once, and then had a positive… it makes me realise the previous months my app hasn’t been accurate although if we were DTD every other day I’d be like yourself and just have faith! With my partner working 12 hourly day/night shifts prior to now, that hasn’t been possible. I’ll be using the ovulation test again this month - but I base it around the predictions on the app anyway to know when roughly to test. The main difference last time I think was DTD the day before ovulation and the day OF ovulation. So I will need to up my game again then 😅😆

A quiet NYE sounds nice! We’re off to a little cabin for a few nights in West Wales - hoping AF does one so we can start getting into the NY spirit 😂🎉

Yeah I think if nothing is working in 2-3 months time I’ll have to branch out to using OPKs. I would probably do the same as you and base it loosely around the app prediction just to see. Tbh I did use the cheap sticks a little in my first month but didn’t really know what I was doing properly so stopped.. and still managed to fall pregnant even though it ended in the chemical. So I know around those two weeks we were right somewhere 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Ah a cabin sounds lush! 🤩 you will have the best time. And yes fingers crossed AF goes away before then!! My app is saying I should test on 22nd Jan - WHY is that so far away 😩 xx

well I have a little bit of news… my partner surprised me on NYE and proposed at midnight while we were away so that was lovely 🥰🥳✨💍 a nice little distraction to all this TTC too while we look to sell our house, and plan a wedding for 2024 😅😂

Baby making is about to get more complicated 🤣 but we can’t put our lives on hold and will continue to plan for the future without a babba, and hope that everything has to change because of one! That’s how I choose to live through this journey 😊

I hope you had a lovely NYE too! Oh god, I haven’t even checked my app yet but from memory I think DTD was this weekend - I totally relate with the sticks I had NO idea what I was doing when using them, that’s why I loved the clear blue digital! Definitely made life easier… will have to start it towards the end of this week. I’ve a smear weds which has been hard to plan as I kept rearranging due to timing being a bit awks in between AF and then had to cancel due to BFP… hoping it’ll all be ok as I had abnormal cells last year and had to have a biopsy so this is the next worry on my mind for this month 🤣🙈 there’s always something isn’t there lol! Xx

according to the flo app i was due friday and now i'm officially 2 days late did a test and it was negative - fingers and toes crossed for a BFP soon cause this will be my last shot of having a baby with my husband ( kids older different BD) we have been trying 5 years and this is the first time flo has told me to test cause I'm late late …. So anxious and nervous i don't know when to test again been 17 years since I've had to do this

@Yolo23 Oh congratulations!!! 👏🏼 that’s amazing news! And definitely lots to take your mind off ttc - but you definitely have the right outlook - keep trying in between life happening and you never know! 🤞🏼✨

Yeah I’d probably try with the clear blue as it’s a bit easier to read and understand isn’t it! We have been using preseed this month, well we’ve used it twice so far! I’ve heard good things so thought there was nothing to lose 🤣 I had quite strong twinges in my back on one side last night which have gone this morning so I’m wondering if that was ovulation?!

Good luck with your smear - I also had abnormal cells in 2018 & had lletz treatment to remove them so I know the worry! 🥺

Smear was done and dusted - she seemed to take FOREVER this time but better to be safe and get as many cells as possible I guess 🤣

ive just used my digital ov test and I’ve a flashing smiley so highly fertile… going to have to make an effort to pounce on the partner when he gets back 😂 after food is never good with me - all I want to do is cuddle up and sleep lol.

any signs or symptoms from you at the moment?? I definitely had those twinges you mentioned before my BFP but also had them last month and it was BFN so god knows hahaha! I always find it reassuring to have symptoms regardless because it gives you that hope and encouragement.. I just hope they’re real half the time and not because I’m more prone to being extra in tune with my body! Xx

I’m not really that sure about signs and symptoms… I’m a bit like you where I start to wonder if I’m making them up! I did have some shooting pains in my boobs last night but only for an hour or so. And I’ve had a lot more EWCM this month which is interesting. CD20 now… so the TWW officially begins according to Flo, it’s telling me the earliest
to test is Jan 22nd 🫠 why does that feel like it’s 6months away 🤣 I think we will still carry on BD every other day for a few more days at least cos I’m worrying I ovulate late and I’m missing it 😳

@Laul89 we did! Even though my partner said he had a dodgy tum… I was like ‘massage time!’ 😂😅 I’m a bit confused with my digital test today as yest was flashing smiley and today I couldn’t do another test as it was still flashing smiley - From reading it looks as though it continues to display until it detects the surge but I’m not sure how it does that if I’ve taken the test out and can’t do another 😂 last time it was easy as it was negative and then a full blown smiley - which means ovulation is 24-48 hrs away… will have to see what happens but from my previous experience, I seem to have ovulate quickly after high ovulation sooooo best try to do the deed again tonight! A bit frustrating as I’d like to know for definite 🤔🤔🤔

Ooo you’re CD20 .. I’m currently CD 14 so not far behind 🫣🤣 hoping for a NY miracle for us both!

Im definitely still never testing too early but a day before AF or on the day it’s due is fine for me mentally.

I’m doing ok.. AF is due anytime between now and Saturday 🫣 CD30 for me and my cycles fluctuate between 30-33 days… the wait is KILLING me. Have really wanted to test but just want to miss AF first.. I’m almost there so keeping everything crossed! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

im doing good too thanks! Hardly any symptoms this month so not quite sure and only DTD twice in the period (but definitely in the ovulation period as my digital said so!)

I’m due AF on Monday 😅 so we are quite similar! Same as you though.. I’m gonna try and avoid testing until perhaps Friday which I’ll then do just to manage my expectations perhaps… keeping my fingers crossed for you!! Have you got a busy week to keep you distracted??

How are you doing? CD33 for me and still no AF 🫣 scared to even say it incase I jinx it 🤣 I’ve looked back through my past cycles and there was twice last year where I came on the day after day 33.. which is tomorrow. Praying I don’t!!!! 🤞🏼

Ive had some AF type cramps, particularly on Wednesday and I definitely thought AF was on her way! Everytime I go to the toilet I’m terrified to wipe 🤣🙈 I’m cracking up!

Any signs for you? 🤞🏼✨

eeeeeek!! I’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you.. I know what you mean about jinxing things - I’ve avoided walking over 3 drains all the years while TTC 😂🤣

so my situation is a bit weird! I had mild cramps over the past few days similar to the ones I had at implantation before my chemical however I’ve had brown discharge today (sorry TMI!) - not hugely similar to the implantation bleeding I had last time but as I have endo, normally if AF is due, I know about it… I’ve stopped having it now this afternoon and no pains so a bit worried that if it was implantation that I’ve done it too late again and if it does turn positive (which is unlikely I think this cycle)… then it won’t stick anyway! AF due for me on Monday so whoooo knows is where I’m at right now! Like you just hoping it stays away… sometimes I feel I’m coming on, and then there’s nothing. So bizarre!! 🥸🥸🥸

You still have a few days if that was implantation signs so hopefully 🤞🏼

I have a drawer full of tests upstairs but just trying to ignore them and get through each day.. however if I don’t come on tomorrow I think I can technically class myself as ‘late’ and do a test either tomorrow or Sunday! It’s daft but I just feel so scared to test… cos if it’s negative I’ll be devastated and if it’s positive I’ll be so worried I’m going to start bleeding. I’m a huge worrier and overthinker.. can you tell 🤣🙈

so I tested this morning just because I felt AF may be on its way and I wanted to see - obviously BFN but if it was implantation… like last time I didn’t get BFP until 13dpo - I’m only 11 today and last time at 11 I was BFN - as it is, I have piles of cheapies here! So I figured why not. I want to manage my expectation where possible - more to know if I’m negative than wishful thinking that I’m positive!

I’ll leave it now until maybe Sunday as that’s when I would be 14dpo… eeeek! I’ve still got this feeling I’m gonna come on early but every time I go to the toilet I have a different experience 😅🤣 it’s so bizarre. I’d definitely be testing tomorrow if I were you! ✨✨🤞

@Yolo23 I'm sorry that's happened to you. I'm 27 and TTC baby number 2. To me it sounds like you had a chemical pregnancy, so common and so heartbreaking. Sending you baby dust and enjoy your holiday 🩷

Yeah I’m the same, got that full/heavy feeling like AF is gonna arrive but it’s so much less than I felt it on Wednesday! I’m the same I’ve been to the toilet so many times I can’t even count just to check 🤣🙈

I’m at a gym class tomorrow morning and I’ll see where we are following that 🫣 do you know if it would still have to be first morning urine or would it not matter at this stage?

yeah! I’ve felt a few times as though oh that’s bloody AF and then absolutely nothing! We only managed to DTD twice at the right time this month mind you… but the only time I had a BFP was the day before and day of ovulation - this was the same thing month so really hoping… although I am currently messaging you while on the toilet 🤣🤣🤣 and afraid to wipe!!!! Lol.

I would go with FMU if I were you as it’s just far more concentrated.. I hope you get a BFP my lovely!!!! Really hoping and praying for you ❤️✨
