Can someone remind me which days of the month I'm likely to be fertile??

around ovulation which you can only tell by charting or OPKs

do not believe anyone who tells you that you ovulate 14 days before your period .. it is a statistical average

I think I'm pretty average though.

I was very lucky and conceived DS 14 days after my period started, the first month I was off the pill.

I know it was then, or a day or two later, because it was my wedding night!!

Is it about 3-4 days either side of ovulation that you're fertile??

Well I hope for your sake you are right.

Sperm can last for up to 3 days so you are fertile 3 days before ovulation. Nobody knows how long each ovum can last but on average it's between 12 hours and 48 hours after ovulation .. so that's your time frame

Just so you know though (feel free to ignore) what happened before you were pregnant does not necessarily relate to what will happen after that pregnancy as your hormones are thrown up in the air and land any which way after giving birth. That doesn't mean you won't have the same cycle, just that you may not have.

I also conceived first child within first month of trying but then experienced secondary infertility when trying again due to ovulating much later in the cycle than expected (CD 23). If I hadn't been fortunate enough to see a fertility consultant I would never have conceived second time round.

That's interesting about your cycle changing after having a baby - I hadn't realised that. I guess we'll have a go and see what happens.

So glad you managed to conceive #2
