My cycle has always been pretty regular but I’m wondering if I’ve been recording it wrong.
At the start of each AF I have 2-3 days of very light bleeding. I’ve always recorded this as CD1 as soon as I see it (as even though it’s more ‘spotting’ I’ve felt that’s quite a subjective term and, after all, the blood is surely just AF starting slowly?!). It’s also easier to record from that day as again it’s kind of subjective deciding at what point it’s gradually got heavy enough to qualify as real AF.
Does anyone else experience this and if so have you recorded where in your cycle you ovulate? I’ve assumed I ovulate around CD14 but my ACTUAL CD14 may be a few days later if this early bleeding is actually considered previous cycle. But why would that blood not be seen as start of new cycle?
I may have been recording wrong all these years and messing up my app algorithms! We’ve only just started TTC so not the end of the world though. I know everyone is different and I plan to start using ovulation tests to work out how many days after this spotting starts / after the heavier flow starts I ovulate.
Would love to hear from anyone pondering the same thing! Xx
